The reason you have to keep writing this is because it's wrong.

Or, not really wrong, but redundant.

Of the people I know who watch the most hockey - almost all of them are into advanced stats. "You don't watch the games" is just a protectionist rant from people who are insulted that they may have to evolve their understanding of the game.

You can and should watch things and make observations - as long as you realize that what you remember is likely not representative of the whole, they it's only going to help you.

No one "just uses corsi" but if they did, certainly that is objectively more effective than just using plus/minus ,although I take your point.

We in fact use tons and tons of stats to make our points, including basic ones like goals, assists and shots that hit the net.

Anyways, you're looking at things through this ridiculously unnuanced black/white prism and as such, unless you take heed of what I'm saying, you'll be forced to keep writing the same thing another 20 times.,
