Risky move
Barring a trade or two, theres going to be far to many bodies on the blueline next season. Tree, Pedan and Larson will essentially all be on one-way contracts. - Whiskey-Tango

Not saying we should give-up on him, but my thoughts on his 'ceiling' as a two way forward just got an injection of reality.
You are correct, trial by fire...and he burned...badly. It's not good. You expect him to get his wallet handed to him, but worst in the league...no one should sink to that low unless you are playing an AHL team.
To be clear, I wouldn't trade him. He's got a good shot is good on F/O's andmight have just his a confidence bump. Hopefully the next shot machine he plays with shoots better than 6.6% (last year Vrbata shot 11% - career he's 9%).
But, the original point was that it's been a disaster this year, which I don't see anyone can argue their way out of. Same with Vrbata, Bartowski and Weber...and those three are thankfully gone at the end of season. - Ronning4ever
Read the first paragraph. Dood he's 20 freaking 20.
Him and mccann have a chance to be similar to Bergeron and kreji |

With a goal today for Utica, #Canucks prospect Andrey Pedan has points in 7 of his last 11 games - he has 8 points (3-5-8) during this time - LeftCoaster
I hope he can beat out Sbisa |

Yup, agreed he could turn out well. But in terms of his year not being a disaster: point out another 20 year old with a -30 this year and I'll concede the point (hint - there aren't any).

Take +/- out of your life man, it's irrellevent. Look at canucks stats as a team: we don't score, we lose games and our shot differential is embarassing. Since January Bo has turned it around, all the relevant stats show this (Corsi/ Fenwick), and even the more straightforward ones such as points per game do too. This is not really a debatable thing, he simply has played much better over the past 20 games.
His game before January wasn't there, no doubt about it. No reason to think a 20 year old in over his head won't continue to improve, as he clearly has been getting better.

Agree to disagree.
A disaster would be he got bumped down the depth chart, had no confidence, showed no promise, was injured, etc.
He is a sophmore, on a crappy team, pushed into a spot that most players would struggle in.
I had low expectations, and yes, he struggled at the start, but really came on late.
I would not call this season a disaster for Bo. For the team on the whole....well....you have a point. |

I think we're having two different conversations.
Convo #1: Bo has been better in the last 20 games and he will continue to improve.
I agree.
Convo #2: Bo's season has been a disaster. He's been on the ice for 50 goals at even strength so far, and has the worst +/- in the entire league.
Still not sure what's debatable about that, but maybe, like your 2 top-5 picks formula, this is one of those things that we can agree to disagree on
