I'm sure his teammates can't wait for him to get there - funmaster18
Yes and no.
I know you were being sarcastic, but I am sure some of them really are excited to get him back. He is dynamic, thats for sure. Him being dynamic helps other look good and hopefully puts them on the radar as well.
On the other hand, if I was a career AHLer I'd be pissed and he would know it. |

so many people around here wanted us to trade for him. (frank) THAT - orangekrush2010
it's hard to get a read on the situation from a far and only hearing what the media puts out, but the kid seems like headache. and Tampa seems to want the moon for him. |

for his own good, i hope someone on that team digs into him at practice/maybe even drops the gloves with him. |

Yeah. sending a message that you are too good for the AHL would annoy me if I was a career AHLer. |

Corey Hirsch was on the NHL network trade deadline show and he talked about how he listened to people get in his head about how good he was after the Olympic silver medal he lead Canada too. Basically he got all full of himself and got upset he didn't make the roster initially with the Ranger and he held out and how it was the worse thing he ever did. He likened it to the Drouin situation. found it interesting. - nastyflyergirl
He's talked about that a few times, since the who thing with Drouin started.
I get Drouin's side. He feels he earned a spot and TB is keeping him from it to keep him from cashing in early. He feels he's been treated unfairly. Might well have a point.
The trouble is, other teams are not going to pay a premium price for a guy that bails on his team in the middle of a season. If Drouin had walked out in camp, different story, maybe. Plus Yzerman was under pressure not to allow Drouin to set a precedent and trade a guy who walked out-in essence allowing Drouin to force his hand. |

Jupiter has 67 of them. I'd give up 1 for Drouin. Just so long as we don't have to give up a prospect. |

Now isnt the time. Plus, risk getting hurt at this time of the season (AHL or NHL) because of something as stupid as this really would piss the org off even more.
The way I would go about it is more business like. We remember. Now you have to shut up and play. Let the other stuff go and focus on winning. |

How about if you're the odd man out who's getting scratched because of him after being part of a winning team for a few months? I'd be pissed if I were that guy. |

This whole thing is egg on Yzerman's head. Allowing the Drouin situation to happen, allowing the Stamkos talk to continue... Could be a rocky road (not ice cream, fatty) for TB in the near future. |

Oh I know it has. Not questioning that. I just think guys have worked too hard to risk breaking a hand on the face of a pretentious young guy who thinks more of himself. Id be surprised if that happened.
Id make it hard for him to enjoy his time for sure. Going extra hard at practice.. whacking and slashing when you normally wouldnt. Silent treatment when he scores type of thing. |

Drouin made Stamkos what he is today. So there's that. |

It's interesting, because now there's 3 star level players who either had open rifts with management or coaching or are heavily reported to be looking to leave in FA.

To make it worse its not like the team doesnt have cup potential. They have been one of the best teams in the Eastern Conf over the prior 3 seasons (including an appearance). So this is all happening while being a contender. Not really a common theme with these situations. |

well tampa is a pretty small market. doesn't surprise me the top guys would want to move on to a bigger market team after a while. that may just be part of it. |

right but there has to be some allure to leaving a smaller market team to join the likes of the rangers or bruins or something like that. |

Small market in a state with no state income taxes. Also a team that is a contender with legitimate Stanley Cup chances. |

I don't know. In TB, he can go to the local grocery store to buy some eggs without getting mobbed. In NY/Boston/Toronto he'd be mobbed (and scrutinized) everywhere he went. |
