He isn't. He's not very physical, but he's not soft. Canada was so poorly run at the WJC it's amazing anyone would use that as a barometer of a player's effectiveness. - Jsaquella
I think they were playing Denmark. Some Danish forward had a clear 1 on 1 break against sanheim. He skated right through sanheim, just bull rushed him and got a decent chance off. It was concerning to me, I watched a few of the games and the systems didn't have much to do with it but I'm concerned with his battling. Looking forward to seeing some WHL playoffs if NHL network runs any games.
Fair to say his game is soft from what I've seen, which is limited |

What if, for some reason, he wanted to join the rangers? or Bruins who aren't doing too badly. or Philly. - orangekrush2010
The Bruins aren't really a contender. Honestly, neither are the Rangers. Both of those teams windows are closing rapidly. The Flyers window may just be getting ready to open.
I do think that it's possible that a guy might want to play for a team with a rich history. However, in the two cases where name players wanted out, each expressed an issue with team management, rather than a desire to leave the city or state of Florida.
St Louis was pissed off that Yzerman left him off the Olympic team. Drouin is pissed because he feels he should be playing in the top 6 in the NHL and that the reason he isn't is because the Lightning don't want him to hit a big payday early in his career. |

This whole thing is egg on Yzerman's head. Allowing the Drouin situation to happen, allowing the Stamkos talk to continue... Could be a rocky road (not ice cream, fatty) for TB in the near future. - jak521
Tb will be just fine with or without drouin, and Stamkos to some extent. Johnson is #1c quality. His skill, tenacity, and 2 way play make up for his lack of size. Kucherov is a real deal winger, and palate is a 2 way play making machine. That line is one of the best in the league when healthy. On top of that, hedman and stralman are one of the better pairings in the league. Behind them they have decent depth as well. I think people are blowing this out of proportion about how tb is (frank)ed if they lose one, or both of those players. |

In his defense, that dude was a Viking. You probably failed to see that he planted a battle axe directly into Sanheim's face as he came down the ice. |

I watched, probably 35-40 of his games last season, maybe 10-15 this season. He's not soft, IMO. He could stand to be more physical, but that's not really his game in the WHL.
The WJC was not a good situation. Guys got limited ice time and saw their minutes yanked arbitrarily unless they were part of the old boys club. Sanheim's play with Calgary(just like Konecny's play with Sarnia & Ottawa) is more indicative than the WJC play |

It's definitely odd. But the Tampa area is beautiful, has beautiful weather (aside from the occasional hurricane), and the tax breaks are fantastic. I'd love to play there is I were in the NHL, despite being a Flyers and Penguins fan.

Corey Hirsch was on the NHL network trade deadline show and he talked about how he listened to people get in his head about how good he was after the Olympic silver medal he lead Canada too. Basically he got all full of himself and got upset he didn't make the roster initially with the Ranger and he held out and how it was the worse thing he ever did. He likened it to the Drouin situation. found it interesting. - nastyflyergirl

They're not screwed, but at the same time, developing a reputation as being difficult to work with may well hurt them as some of these guys come up for deals or if they need FA to fill holes. |

Losing Stamkos would be bad. They could (and can) do without Drouin, but, if Stamkos can learn how to score in the postseason, he's the difference between a conference finals appearance and lifting a Cup. The others you mentioned are good/great players, but Stamkos is the superstar scorer who plays an underrated 2-way game. |

Yup, I walk through it once in a while myself. We might have run into one another in McIrish drinking hole back when PSC was in business. That was my post workout reward. |

Each minor league has a PPV package where you can watch games on demand. I usually just hunt down free streams this season, since Hockeystreams went tits up. That's why I haven't watched as many games this year. More of a pain in the ass to hunt them down and more costly than the $99 I paid for Hockey streams |
