Seriously though... VDV is realllly good at saving the puck from getting cleared, only to turn it over immediately and have it cleared. I crack up. So many times he has made a great play on the forecheck only to turn it over as soon as he has possession.

He's an adequate replacement guy. He's serviceable enough. My one criticism of Hakstol is how much use he tosses that line.

Your missing the point. Ghost is at thw top of the Umbrella as one Streit and Timonen before him. Defensemen naturally defend and skate backwards. Forwards do not. I don't mean to be so brash.

Forwards don't naturally defend, but all players have to be adept at skating well both backwards and forward. Mike Richards used to play the point at times, and Read did for a little bit in 2012. Generally defensemen play the point, but many forwards are able to skate backwards and defend adequately (Bergeron and Datsyuk come to mind as elite ones).

Kordic had a very good rookie year on a bad team. Had he not blown out his knee I think he would have had a long successful career as a bottom pairing dman. He wasn't some stiff, just couldn't afford that type of injury.

He would certainly help fast forward the development of this team into a contender. I'd trade Sanheim + 2 2nd rounders and something else if need be.

what is the point? It only happens if they cant resign him and you have to assume there will at elast be a roster player included in the deal. The only reason the trade makes sense is RH vs LH and possibly $ if it gets to that point.
