Few things on Trouba.
The contract demands are insane for a young kid that has been fairly up and down, especially this season.
Second, if you do take a risk on him why the (frank) would the Jets trade him for an unknown in Sanheim who showed he was soft as a limp noodle in the WJC.
I like Sanheim, and the idea of what he can become. At this point however he is a fart in a windstorm compared to Trouba. |

what is the point? It only happens if they cant resign him and you have to assume there will at elast be a roster player included in the deal. The only reason the trade makes sense is RH vs LH and possibly $ if it gets to that point. - YuenglingJagr
the point is we'd get a more sure thing further along in his development who can contribute massively NOW and well as long into the future. |

Honestly, I am more concerned with adding offensive talent to the current group. |

well yeah that needs to happen too, but we also need our D to be improved (which it should over time with our prospects). |

The entire team canada was just off. Honestly, Konecny was one of the only ones showing much of anything consistently. |

Honestly its all I've really seen of the kid. He had very limited minutes too. So take it with a grain of salt. |

Selection process is far too political. |

Thats kinda why I was asking.. He really didnt get any time (nor did Konecny). All of team Canada was a total mess, when they should have been fairly dominant.
Now, I have seen a enough of Sanheim to admit he doesnt bring much of a physical force considering his size, but I wouldnt call him soft. |

He isn't. He's not very physical, but he's not soft. Canada was so poorly run at the WJC it's amazing anyone would use that as a barometer of a player's effectiveness. |

Should have never walked out. Demand a trade, keep working hard, play out the string. Leaving the team tied Yzerman's hands. Other GMs weren't going to give value at that point. He screwed himself. |

Corey Hirsch was on the NHL network trade deadline show and he talked about how he listened to people get in his head about how good he was after the Olympic silver medal he lead Canada too. Basically he got all full of himself and got upset he didn't make the roster initially with the Ranger and he held out and how it was the worse thing he ever did. He likened it to the Drouin situation. found it interesting. |

I'm sure they will have a chip on their shoulder until they start winning games because of him |
