This isn't a dig at WD and I'm glad that he will be back next year but I really hope we are able to keep Green in the fold.

Green has the Comets playing really impressive hockey under tough conditions and it will be a shame if he moves on.

The last two weekends have both been 3 games back to back to back including 2 this past weekend against the leagues best Marlies and the Comets have 10 of 12 points.

All of this after losing their top 3 scorers in Shinkaruk, Gaunce and Zalekski during that run.

I like it for many reasons.

1: Dane Fox was free, has the talent to play in the AHL on a team that does not have much talent in the AHL (Charlotte).
2: The future considerations in return will be based on his performance (thus we get a draft pick).
3: The player we got in return is a PPG player in the AHL and a true number 1 center that Utica has not really had. This should push this team to have a deep playoff run and thus give the players more AHL playoff experience.
4: This opens up another contract for Benning to sign CHL/NCAA's players. If he is good at scouting and gauging talent as he says, this is great.
