Stolarz and Madsen - jmatchett383
I personally think out of the Flyers prospect Sandstrom has the best shot to be the starter in 5 years. Even better than Bob. |

Hahah I traded him yesterday. decided to start a new one. Boy did I make out fine and dandy in the 2016 season. - arichardson22
i recently tried to actually play the entire season and made it to game 68 before i just got bored and couldn't do it anymore. Sold off pieces, essentially rebuilt, and simmed a couple seasons forward and my team looks like this to begin the 2019 season:
Tkachuk (87)-Giroux (90)-Voracek (90)
Laine (84)-Matthews (90)-Konecny (86)
Schenn (86)-Couturier (86)- Simmonds (88)
4th liner- Cousins (82)-4th liner
Provorov (92)- Morin (82)
Sanheim (85)-Ghost (86)
Gudas (83)- not even sure
and i also have leier (79), NAK (80), Max Jones (78) waiting in the wings.

Okay. So you see little difference between Kane, Tarasenko, and Voracek? I see a world of difference. - jmatchett383
One is a creep.
One plays for the Blues.
One plays for the Flyers. |

So you traded all the trash for 4 high end draft picks? Seems about right for an NHL game.

I just don't get your obsession. Yeah, dude's having a great year in the QMJHL. But I don't get why you don't realize that he's not on most people's radar screens right now. After this season when people take the time to break down each prospect, I'm sure he'll get more recognition. I assure you, there is no conspiracy against him. - jmatchett383

NJ could sign him without having to move anyone. They could go as high as $11m for seven years and still have plenty of room left over.
The Islanders have more space than us next season and are a playoff team. There's really no reason to think the Flyers are in a position to outbid the rest of the league for Stamkos. - Feanor
I doubt he wants to play in that crappy Barclay's Center. |

Simmonds-G-Jake
Laughton-Couts-Schenn
Leier-Cousins-Raffl
Fazleev-Konecny-NAK
Ghost-MDZ
Sanheim-Gudas
Provorov-Morin
I got Laine, Benson, Howden, Juolevi and Steel in minors. I got Laine 2nd Round |

On a funnier note, Ek just listed Vinny as the 5th for 5 best trade pick ups this season - arichardson22
Did you guys see Vinny's break away goal last night? Fastest I have seen him skate since coming to LA. He out skated two Canucks players and got one past |

Well i traded a lot of my future 1st rounders...made some deals with crappy teams to being my franchise to swap 1st rounders and got their high first pick.. |

I don't think people understand how dramatic a contract like Stamkos would be on any team, especially the Flyers.
This is assuming the cap stays the same, good chance it actually goes down and the Flyers don't sign any of their UFAs.
Forwards
Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Couturier, Read, Bellemare, VandeVelde, Umberger (not including Laughton)
Defense
MacDonald, Streit, Del Zotto, Schultz, Ghostisbehere
Goalies
Mason, Neuvirth
That's 58M in salary, remember in the offseason all salary counts. That leaves roughly 13.398M in cap space. Let's say Stamkos takes a discount signs for 10M. That leaves approx. 4M to sign Schenn, Weal, Gudas and Manning. Signing Stamkos would take a hell of a lot more than just moving a minor piece or two, it would take a couple major move like Umberger, MacDonald or Streit completely removed. Plus you have to fill out the rest of the roster and leaves little wiggle room for call-ups.
Can it be done, yes, but a lot of magic has to happen. - Glak18
Not that I want it to happen, but its definitely doable. Trading Streit (~2.5) Buyout umberger (3) and ban AMac (~1) saves plenty for next year. The biggest pinch will actually be the following offseason when they have to resign Ghost, MDZ, Laughton, Leier, Stolarz, Mason/Neuvirth

From BSH:
Since February 16th, Philadelphia has the best score-adjusted possession metrics in the entire NHL, and star Jakub Voracek has missed five of the ten games in that span.

It was as simple as seeing what teams were likely to have the top picks in the 2016 draft at the trade deadline and making deals with my future 1sts to acquire their 2016 first pick. Included Hagg and Laughton in those deals. |

He was an unkown and having a good year. Is it the norm or more a aberration? There are more KNOWN type players in the system. Not saying he might not be a player. Just I think people want to see more. |

This article is a lot of fun to read. Amazing how the Pens and Rangers are going to be really (frank)ed in the next few years. - Tomfan365
I agree with the tone of that article completely.
ANY success this team has this year is pure gravy. I have no expectations, really. I'm just kinda enjoying it. |

I think Ghost is, at least, on par with Larkin and Panarin (at least in my mind), but I think McDavid pretty much has to get injured or kill a guy not to get the Calder. |

Yeah I targeted two teams who were in the middle that both happened to drop and then got lucky with trading for San Jose's 1st that Bruins have. Turned out to be 5th overall and I traded for it preseason |

And you have to think that most of those negations won't be too difficult with the exception of Ghost. |

I've watched him a few times and think very highly of him. Not just the points -- his game itself. But yeah, he's going to need to replicate it before he assumes anything higher than 5th on the d prospect list (Provy, Ghost, Sanheim, Morin). I don't want to say he's better than Morin because Big Sam has been getting better every year, has a longer track record, and is closer. But.....going out on a limb, I think Myers has some abilities and offensive instincts Morin doesn't and his potential interests me. It's too early to list him above Morin though. |

Can you imagine how freakin big our D could be. As long as they bring the sandpaper with their game though. Like Chicago with Seabrook, Keith and Hjalmarsson. All three are fairly big(stocky) but bring a lot of toughness back there. |
