I have a recurring nightmare that the Flyers' losses to teams like the Leafs and the Oilers will be the reason why they "just" miss the playoffs.

It makes me sad.

I hope he does well in San Jose. I don't really have anything negative to say about SJ. (if I'm reaching, I can comment about the teal.)
