It amazes me Ghost single handily (one can argue) won the game last night, tied and broke a franchise record, and had 2 goal night yet NHL.com doesn't make it a headlining article for their alternating image at the top. Instead an overtime win and shootout win is more important. - arichardson22
Meh, I like our guys flying under the radar. |

He has top flight offensive instincts. He will get keyed on, going forward, by the opposition's better checkers but I don't think he will be denied from posting really strong offensive numbers. With reinforcements on the way, especially on the blueline, Gostisbehere looks like he is on his way to being one of the best offensive defensemen, in the entire league, for the next ten years. - MidnightMarauder
As you mentioned with reinforcements coming like Provorov, Morin and Sanheim and depending on who is paird with he will get some favorable mathups.
I wonder with the emergence of Gostisbehere and Provorov basically showing the he can't do much else in junior are they a little ahead of schedule on the plan?
Target Stamkos in FA and you could be building an incredible foundation |

He attacks the puck instead of letting the puck come to him. He knows he won't win most of the board battles (not that he doesn't scrap/hit) so instead, he goes after the puck before it comes a battle. - jmatchett383
He plays a hard game at times. Good for him to play with that intensity. Doesnt shy away from the physical game and throws a few himself.
Kind of funny when you consider a guy like Carle has 20 pounds on him. (frank) Carle.

He has been fun to watch. You can see teams now realise he is a threat, he was a target physically in the Columbus game and he is getting less space.
Giroux went through the same thing early in his career and will be interesting to see how Ghost overcomes the extra attention. I am always scared someone is going to lay him out but the kid is very shifty. - flyer_nutter
He can learn by watching a guy like Duncan Keith. He never seems to take a huge hit, just knows how to avoid them with his skating. |

To me White or VDV should sit. We know it wont be VDV, should it be White. I want these kids to experience the final push. Playoffs or not. - flyer_nutter
I would sit VDV just for missing that open net last night. All he had to do was use his backhand and tap it in. Instead he tries to get to his forehand and can't lift it. That play made me laugh! |

I believe he is.
Even experts when they gush about gostisbehere they all say wait till Provorov is there. I think Provorov will eventually be what Duncan Keith is to the Blackhawks. |

Dont want Stamkos. The contract demands will be asinine and the team needs young talent to help compliment the eventual aging/decline of Giroux/Voracek.
If they want to dip into FA, upgrade the bottom 6. In particular the fourth line and PK group. Like Bellemare, but the forwards on the PK have been pretty bad. Need an upgrade there. |

Ill be amazed if VDV ever sits as long as he is part of the Flyers. He skates fast, tries hard but needs to provide more. Isnt good on the PK, and the dude cant score.
Want to compete for a Stanley Cup? Need better than VDV on your fourth line. |

No thank you. Steady the course. We would have WAY too much money commited to three forwards for the next like 8 years. Obviously Stamkos is a great player but I don't see a great fit here. Patience is what the flyers still need at this point. |

Morin is going to a beast. He is going to be what Hatcher was for Dallas back in the day. |

I'm with Nutter about Gudas.
I would be very happy to see them ink him to a 2 yr deal.
Money about what Schultz got, 2-2.25 per.
Can live with a 3 yr deal, prefer 2 with the prospects coming. |

He probably is the real deal, or as close to the real deal as any player currently in the CHL. I'm hoping we have a Keith/McDonagh pair with Provorov/Sanheim and a Bogosian/Ghost (who's the comparable) in Morin/Ghost in 3-4 years. |

You know Stamkos is younger then Giroux?
We have no clue what the damands will be. If it is purely financial then yes Toronto could offer the most. But a lot of good teams can't fit him in without clearing tons of space. That limits his market. Does he want a full rebuild in his prime?
The Flyers could be a very attractive place. And that is not my bias. They are closer then Toronto to competing and they have attractive prospects and pieces. Also he could play center like he wants. You could go down the middle with Giroux, Stamkos and Couturier in your top 9

I'd sign him for 4-5. He is very young as well, which I sometimes forget with that damn beard.
Keep the cap hit down. To what a real 3rd pairing d-man should be paid. |

And how are we going to fit his $10M/per on our cap in 3-4 years when Simmonds and some of our younger D need their extensions? |
