Nooo, i meant that they are all within the top 10-15..(1-10/15) - orangekrush2010
Okay. So you see little difference between Kane, Tarasenko, and Voracek? I see a world of difference. |

You keep stating the Flyers should trade Read, Schultz and Umberger like its so easy. Why would other teams want them when the Flyers dont? Then you state how easy it is to replace...other teams can do that too, why trade for them if they are easy to replace?
BTW I keep seeing Stamkos signing as a guaranteed 10M a year, sure if he resigns with Tampa. If he hits the market, I would be utterly shocked to see him take less than 90M over 8 years. Remember Kane, Towes and Kopitar were resigned by their teams, a UFA will want more than that and has the options to do so. - Glak18
I think a player is only allowed to sign for a max of 7 years with a new team if he chooses to resign he can add an 8th season. 7 years 11-12 mill a season is what I am expecting Stamkos to get. |

Read has some trade value, Umbergers deal will be up relatively soon (in case you can't trade him)..you could buy him out if need be..Schultz could probably fetch a draft pick or minor leaguer on a 2 way deal... |

He probably is the real deal, or as close to the real deal as any player currently in the CHL. I'm hoping we have a Keith/McDonagh pair with Provorov/Sanheim and a Bogosian/Ghost (who's the comparable) in Morin/Ghost in 3-4 years. - jmatchett383
There's not enough talk in here about Myers. Greater ceiling than morin imo of what he can be. Maybe most importantly, he is RH |

just want to mention, again, the effort by gudas (who had a terrific game) on the sequence that led directly to the delay of game penalty which yielded gost's go-ahead goal in the 3rd.
without a stick he made that great kick play by attacking the puck somewhat deep in the zone to keep it alive. the flyers continued to forecheck with giroux pressuring the dman in the corner who lobbed it over the glass under pressure.
that is the stuff that helps win games and the kind of effort they need every night to get into the playoffs at this stage. schenn did it on the backcheck , giroux did on the one handed pk clear near the line.. it all adds up.
but yeah, (frank)ing gudas. - hammarby31
I can't recall who said it previously (like maybe 1-2 weeks ago) but I don't think Gudas is remotely slow. he has done a very good job minus the week or two of brain fart hits. as much as I liked Coburn, that trade could end up being a fantastic deal. |

Yes, you have to be on the team's roster as of the TDL to be able to sign the 8th year. But he'll likely take $11M minimum for the max. 7 years wherever he chooses to go, if he chooses to test FA. |

So we shouldn't try to get a player because he's maybe a top 8 offensive player vs. a top 4? Why? Both are elite and offensive stars in the league and game breakers. |

We're lucky Giroyx has this good for this long and this healthy for this long. It's gonna be years until we have to pay Provorov, Sanheim, Gostisbehere and Morin. I say get him because this team without G would be lost right now.

I still expect at least 11M per. Like everyone knows a 26 year old star player rarely hits the market, the player and especially the agent would be foolish not to get the most they possibly can. You don't hit free agency to get the same as someone else. |

You're not getting this. I don't see as huge of a difference between Giroux and Stamkos as I do Tarasenko and Voracek. If they Flyers didn't have Giroux, I'd be all over Stamkos. I just don't think that having a second line center making $8-$11M is good use of the cap.
Then again, it's worked so well for Pittsburgh after Malkin signed his big deal. Heck, they almost won a 3rd round game against Boston a few years back. |

Apparently we see the difference between those two wingers differently. And idk what Malkin's contract has to do with them underachieving. We've been over this. They've dealt with injuries, and have largely just underachieved while trading all their picks and prospects. |

Cool. Sign Stamkos to $12M for 7 years and have fun dealing with extensions kicking in for all of your defenseman and young wingers in that span. Done arguing this because it's not going to happen anyway. |

Also, I don't see a huge difference in talent level with Giroux and Stamkos either. Which would be why it would be nasty to have both. Giroux is one of the best centers in the game. |

I think the differences you two are seeing is the definition of elite. I personally do not put Giroux nor Voracek in that category, stars or superstars sure. |

I think the Manning thing is a recency bias. If you evaluate both based on the entirety of the season, it's not even close.
The Flyers just played their two best games of the season, so I think it's dangerous to look at any singular player and say he had a huge effect (except guys like Ghost and Giroux) - PhillySportsGuy
Voracek was not in for the two best games of the season. Something something team better without him. |
