I thought backstrom was a UFA and just a salary dump.?
I agree on Miller not having a lot if value (unless he stands on his head next season).
I am ignorant on what gryba or martin bring to the table.
If we are trading tanev n Hansen. I'd approach Edmonton about Rnh. - dbot

He's definitely a top 6 forward, so I disagree on that one. - Crazybagoham
He's the highest paid Forward in the league to never score over 40 points.
Under 50% in the face-off circle for his career. |

I think Hansen will be packaged with Tanev to try to upgrade on D . I think Edler won't waive so it will be Tanev out.
I think Benning will also find a NCAA Dman
I think Benning will keep salary (maybe half ) and trade Miller for a pick and pick up a back up goalie for a year as Demko plays a year in Utica.
I think Benning targets Matt Martin on the UFA market, and maybe Gryba - VANTEL
I completely agree on the 1st 2 but no to the last 2. While Miller being moved might be good for cap space, I dont see him doing it....I do think having miller playing less games and staying in case Markstrom goes down. We'd have no one truly capable of stepping in otherwise. |

Demers is another UFA RHD. I'd love to see RNH for tanev or Edler package as long as we don't give up too high of a draftpick. |

even a Gauthier if you're picking a forward outside the top 3, go way off the boards for someone who will play with the team after the summer. Agreed whichever team picks Nylander in the top 10 is making a mistake, thought the same when Leafs picked Marner/Nylander - Crazybagoham
I think Nylander would be a great pick. Skilled like his brother but he isn't a smurf and doesn't look like A chick |

That is both bold and incorrect. Sometimes players get hired for things other than scoring. I wasn't a big fan of the deal before the season, but he looks no fun to play against on the defensive side of things. |

What makes you think Benning moves Hansen in the off-season when he didn't listen to offers at TDL?
Generally TDL is where you can get the biggest returns for players especially when that player is having a career year.
Moving their only RH defender who is capable of playing in the NHL let alone up against top competition doesn't make any sense either. They need to add RHD not subtract.
Bachman (1 year remaining) will likely still be the vet in Utica which is a shame because Cannata has been really good. I |

2C or 1st ling winger. You pick - Codes1087
He had 12 assists last year, 13 the year before, that's piss poor for a center who's suppose to distribute the puck.
He's a good player but he's not a second line center on a good to decent team. |

I expect this from you
You always shoot down everything and then three months later always apologize.
I said Canucks finish 7 th from the bottom , you say 14-17
I say Sutter I would be great for the team you said he is not good with Corsica.
I say Tanev is not that good you say he is wonderful
I said last year Canucks should target Lucic in the offseason , you said keep away. They did target him
That's ok I will be here in three months when you admit you were wrong again |

That was playing under 2 very good centers, he proved this year 20 gp, 5g 4 a.... I think 2 of those goals were shorthanded? Its a small sample size yes, but I think he proved this year in his top 6 role that he was pretty solid, give him a full season and I really think he will get 40-50 points with this team

If we move out a D like that then it makes sense. Tanev would be my choice for someone who is more physical etc.
Not so sure we should go for UFA as long as Pedan comes in. Tree, pedan, and maybe larson all coming in as new next year. With current contracts and the new batch we could be log jammed. With our finish this year not sure any UFA would want to come anyways.
JB will likely just draft D and also sign college D. |

1) Brandon Sutter has had 40 points (exactly 40, only one time)
2) Unless you exclude defensemen, it is simply an incorrect statement. |

I have no problem admitting I'm wrong some times although I wouldn't say I always end up going back on my opinions.
I never said Sutter was no good, I said he isn't a 2C and that signing him to an extension without seeing him play was unnecessary.
Tanev is wonderful compared to what we have, by the way did you notice how we outhit LA last night and still lost 5-1 ?
I did say 12-17 barring a significant injury or two..... |
