Moulson has to say yes to a trade, correct?
I'm hoping he just comes back strong after a good summer or we're fugged. - seedy
It says limited NTC, perhaps its just a list he can say no to? |

He should be a team player and just retire. Save us all the headache. Im sure Pegula would appreciate it and help him out financially for the generous decision. |

Wouldn't he still have an impact on our cap for the rest of the contract length? |

I dont think so. Does Kavalchuk still count against NJD? I belive if you retire there is no cap hit. |

These self-righteous C-suckers in Toronto are getting really annoying with their delusions. At this point I'd rather see Edmonton get the first pick over them. In fact, I hope Toronto doesn't get to pick until at least fourth and all their current prospects turn out to be busts. Screw the rivalry! I hope the Sabres just destroy the Leafs in every game for the next decade.

Believe that depends on your age when you sign the contract, something like a "35-year old" rule or similar |

Sounds like his discussion with Murray is causing him to take one more stab at being a team player. I imagine after next year, they have that discussion with him, but I can't imagine a player ever "giving up" like that. It seems like Murray kinda questioned his work ethic. or at least his ability to display that he's trying to work through his slump.
Dustin Brown is no all-star, but I read an article about him recently where he drastically reduced his diet and changed his exercise routine due to his age an said it helped him out a lot.
Anyone know the specifics of his modified NTC? General Fanager has it listed as an NTC.
GM's really got to stop handing those things out like candy. |

I see. I just remember the fear of Erhoff retiring was a problem for us. |

Kovalchcuk counts as 250,000 against the NJD for 12 years after he retired. I would take that all day and 3x on sunday for Moulson to retire. |

I know right? You would only have to raise ticket prices 34 cents per game to cover it. DO IT! |

That's the recapture penalty, which penalizes teams who signed players to front-loaded contracts - pretty much a non-issue with newer contracts since the salaries can't be so drastic anymore (like Pronger's was - 7M salary early, less than 1M late).

things that concern me
pysyk long term
girgens long term
franson and gorges for next year
foligno and his lack of consistency
our coach
our gm
and how to get moulson out of here - homiedclown
Pysyk is a manageable issue
Girgensons in manageable.
The old guys will fall away in time.
None of those guys are targeted as long term irreplaceable core, IMO.
My HUGE issue: over the last 3 weeks, I'm beginning to wonder if Risto is truly a #1.
He's a dude we're depending on, and he has looked shaky. |

Close enough. Throw that line back together and see what happens. 15ish games left, let's throw some poop and see what sticks - Zschalberg

For what he brings to the offense and the PP yes, without a doubt.
BUT, his defensive play leaves something to be desired. It looked like it was getting better and now looks like it is regressing. Hopefully just a funk, but he is not good in his own end. |

Girgs on Line #1 and Mpulsen on Line #2 looks very weak to me?? You have Gigs on line #3, so something needs to change there - turbo044
My bad. Point is I'm not expecting us to make a huge splash for a forward in the offseason. It'd help but I feel we're going to let Jack and Sam's development be the driving factor to getting more goal scoring. That and meshing with their linemates and another year of everyone having played under the system |

Murray has also said he doesn't think Jack's winger is on the team yet. - Zschalberg
He said "we MAY not have Jack's winger on the team yet"
He made that comment right after he talked about Girgensons looking good with him
I think the point is that they're still figuring it all out
So far, the only thing I think we can safely say is that Sam & ROR have looked petty good on any line combo they've had... Whether they're together or separate |

If those are the lines going into next year I 100% expect us to be at the bottom of the NHL again. Moulson shouldn't touch the top 6 and neither should Zemgus IMO. We need to add a winger for Eichel and that Defense needs at least two new faces that can play on the top 4 - Smittyx36
Really? Because I don't. We're like what, 24th, 23rd when we didn't have Lehner for half the year and Jack and Sam were rookies. Not to mention our top 2 scorers from last year have 27 combined points. I don't think we get worse. I see us being around 20th and maybe close enough that at the TDL we make a move to try to get us to 8th in the conference. |

He's 21 years old and paired with Josh Georeges. Things could be better for him. He has the tools, tenacity and drive to become great in this league. I'm far more concerned with McCabe.[/img] |

I will say, the 1st goal the other day against Toronto was all on Gorges. Was too slow to pinch so decided to go back, and then was to slow to go back. Risto should have taken away the pass as well, but there was no reason that should have been an odd man rush. |

McCabe? I've loved his game and im very happy with the way he is progressing and the style he plays. He gets caught out of position from time to time. But i am in no way concerned with him. Pysyk yes. McCabe no. |
