I think Moulson's limited NTC stops that. - Mentalorgasm5
Agreed. Not sure how many teams he can list, but my guess is bottom tier teams in the west are automatics |

Are they Eligible? Can you imagine Jack and Samson going to ROC
Instant favorites? - CoHo_to_B-Lo
That's what I was getting at - not sure if people need to put in time or what.
Now that I think about it though, I think there was a certain date (TDD?) that people needed to have some AHL service time in. Pretty sure that's what the Rychel stuff was all about when people thought him being pulled from practice was him being traded. |

I don't think these packages of "Ennis +" and "Girgensons +" are realistically gonna get us a young, top pair defenseman
If I was another team, I'd ask for something like...
Fasching, 2017 1st, Hurley... And maybe ship out a contract I don't want anymore
Something like that - jdfitz77
It won't that's why the 2016 pick needs to be in play. Assuming we see major improvement, 2017 pick won't be enough of a centrepiece to get a team interested. Fasching is Murray's boy. If he was ok with moving him 2 months after giving him an ELC than Kane and Bogo should be available as well and at that point you'd be making a deal around them. |

Yea it's why there were bunch of random AHL transactions that day, making sure certain players are eligible. |

Yeah, realized it too late...but damn that would have been cool to be able to have them play down there. |

If our pick is outside the top5,
Then I think it should definitely be in play
But u could be right...
It might have to be regardless
I could see Kane being in play also
Bogosian wouldn't be the centerpiece of a deal though. Maybe if it was something like Fasching & Bogo for...
That could be possible |

Im not opposed to using Fasching as trade bait, i just cant see it happening since he's murrays guy. |

Not sure any draft pick, this side of Matthews, will be with the big team next year:
Eichel-Stamkos-Reinhart
Kane-O'Reilly-Ennis
Foligno-Larsson-Fasching
Moulsen-Girgensons-Gionta
Risto-FA pick or maybe draft choice
Bogo-McCabe
Gorges-Pysyk-Franson
Lehner-Johnson (resigned) - turbo044
The top 5 would EASILY be in the NHL next year |

I don't think Murray would want to move him...
I'm just thinking of what other teams would want? |
|
|
|
Really? Because I don't. We're like what, 24th, 23rd when we didn't have Lehner for half the year and Jack and Sam were rookies. Not to mention our top 2 scorers from last year have 27 combined points. I don't think we get worse. I see us being around 20th and maybe close enough that at the TDL we make a move to try to get us to 8th in the conference. - Zschalberg
If Murray iced those lines next year he deserves to be fired. I 10000% guarantee they will add a few pieces. |

e.
Could be but don't be so sure. The two fins might fulfill their military duty and who knows if Tkachuk, Nylander, etc will be ready. Strome (#3 overall this year) played in Erie all year and Reinhart (#2, 2014) didn't make the Sabres last year. |

The two fins will not get stuck with military duty. They will find a way around it just like Risto did. Tkachuk might be the one that stays a year. Depends on the team. The 5th guy is the top defenceman of the draft in Churchryn or the Fin. Regardless they're likely in NHL next year too |

This year I think it's the case. Two fins will be in NHL or AHL no matter what that's 1-3. Ktchauk could go either way. Churchryn top D likely to make team but I guess I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed. Depends on team. |

Risto didn't play with the Sabres in his draft year. I wouldn't be shocked if Matthews is the only one that sticks. Eichels/McDavids of the world are pretty rare. |

Don't the two fins make more money staying in Europe than playing in the AHL? If I'm them, I don't see myself coming from Europe to play in the AHL. |

No because I'd bet about 85% at least of them makes their NHL roster. The other likely will get a 9 game try out and with talking to their GM will show how playing in system close to them will benefit their game. |

So if we are picking 5-7 in the draft do we trade it at the draft or make the pick? If it's Chychrun or Juolevi, I would see if we can get a team interested in trade.
Cheers! |
