The problem is not the worst teams getting the best picks.

The problem is when the same team wins over and over again.

It is simple to fix that without penalizing the really bad teams who need the help.

Agreed..... If they are weighting the lotto based on standings, why not add a weight that decreases the % of wining based off how you performed in the previous lotto.


Last place team has 20% chance of winning ( current)
If you are last this year you get 20% chance, if you won lotto last year your chance is decreased by X, if you won the 2nd lotto last year your chance goes down by Y, if you won 3rd lotto last year your chance goes down by Z. You could incorporate some sort of 3 year rolling %.

This year the Leafs were in teardown mode at day one.
Rebuild mode has not started yet n only pick accumuting has.
Idk if next year is gonna be a rebuild year yet or stay the current course.
