Ok... But what kind of trade value does he have?
I'm assuming not too much with his scoring struggles this year - jdfitz77
you package girgens, pysyk and a few 3rds and see what you get for a return
that's would I would do
we don't need bodies at this point, we need severe upgrades on the roster
larsson allows girgens to be moved in a package to upgrade the top half of the roster
my 2 cents |

"Fallen to 3rd line center"
Or did we draft a franchise center #2
And trade for ROR, who's already established as a top6 center
I'm not saying he's great...
He's had a rough year offensively
U & 89 are treating him like he's Adam Mair - jdfitz77
ZG .35 PPG with the larger sample size and this terrible year no one wants
JD .43 PPG everyone wants to empty the cupboards for
.08 isn't all that much... i mean at most 3 maybe 4 drinks worth |

No, your treating him like he's Greztky - SABRES 89
That's ridiculous
Answer me about all these other good teams that balance out their top 3 lines...
If it's good enough for them...
Why do we need our 6 best players in the top6? |

Murray has wanted Hoffman and Stone since his first day on the job, tried pawning off Chris Stewart for either one but it didn't work. - SABRES 89
I like Stone, kid is a beast along the boards and a very nice 2 way player

Don't think he played last night. At least that's what the box score shows.
8 point in 35 games. Best player we gave up in that trade - Zschalberg
Armia and Girgensons are almost the same age.
Both play at both ends, both don't have a ton of points this year (One is a rookie)
One of them is Jack Eichel's future winger that can still be "special"
The other is a bust.
Not saying you said this, just making an observation |

we lost ror, mcginn, and ennis
with what's left girgens is not a top 6 guy up front
which IMO is sad |

I would move Girgensons ++ to the Kings for Jake Muzzin, good LHD with a 4 mill cap hit. Kings need to move money to keep Lucic. - SABRES 89
I actually wouldn't oppose this |

and others are treating him like he is Mike Peca
1 2months ago, the masses said he should be the next captain, now he is getting beat by cal o reilly for 3rd line center
thats COR not ROR
I have watched this team hold on to kotalik, connolly, goose, heicht, instead of realizing what they have and move on
I am not sure schaller would do any worse on our 3rd line then girgens, let alone larsson - homiedclown

If either of those guys had trade value, I think Murray probably would have moved them by now
I guess we'll see at the draft
I don't hate your idea...
But I don't thing that gets us Lindholm, Trouba, etc
These guys aren't problems, they're just young
We don't need to dump them when their value is low bc they haven't blossomed right away

It makes sense, we move Girgensons and a couple picks to the Kings and we get Jake Muzzin the LHD man we need and it's only 4 mill a year, Kings then have a better chance at keeping Lucic. |

No that move wouldnt get lindholm or Trouba but Muzzin isn't quite them, he's solid but not elite or future elite...
And more trade routes open up during FA when you need to make cap cuts |

If that were possible...
Then sure!
But they wouldn't even part with Muzzin BEFORE he became a good partner for Doughty
Tough to imagine they'd trade him now
Especially with a nice cap# like u point out |

An upgrade is better than just wishing. Some forget you can't trade garbage for stars. Girgs would be a good candidate for that upgrade. |

Idk that you're wrong...
But idk that you're right either
BOTH Murray & Bylsma repeatedly have spoken about Girgensons playing the wing with Jack again in the future...
So unless they're just trying to build up his trade value?
That doesn't really seem like a Murray thing to do though. He's a pretty straight shooter.

"He's not top 6"
"He's passed up by a career AHLer on the 3rd line"
"He's not playing the position he was drafted at"
Not exactly stellar talk about a guy to consider not "trash" when talking about trades though. If trade talk is "Girgensons+ for X", then it's a "3rd liner at best" plus pieces worse than that for something good.
I don't see it. |

Agreed on all fronts. Girgensons belongs on the 3rd line where he can focus on D and get a few goals. And that's not a bad thing. 3rd line centers play an important role, especially if you're going against the top lines effectively. I'm not saying he sucks or I want to trade him but put him where he's best suited.
If we trade him for a good return then of course I'm good for it. But I'm not thinking we need to trade him now or we'll regret it. |

That doesn't make them right. They can say they want him to be a 2nd line player but that doesn't mean he is. That means we have a GM/Coach who overvalues his depth players. |
