Shakespeare composed less beautiful lines of poetry than this. |

Kinda funny how 30 minutes ago the Wings looked like the easiest team to catch to make the playoffs, but now it's likely the Pens |

Just shows how hard it is to make up only a few points. Wings play the Leafs next too. Jake coming back will be yuge. |

Zetterberg (35) and Datsyuk (37) are 'old' especially for today's NHL and have a ton of mileage, but they're also cerebral players who've been through this song and dance many times before. I think they have the ability to turn on the overdrive for this stretch drive and sustain it into the playoffs. Having young talented players like Larkin, Nyquist and Tatar stepping up only helps make them more of a threat. |

Zetterberg and Datsyuk aren't close to what they were in their primes. Pens without Malkin are a one line team that have no business being in the playoffs. Keep winning please. |

I agree. Anytime your team identifies players with high upside who end up contributing to the team it's a positive, regardless of how the team acquired that player.
My only point was that I don't look to NYR as a model for drafting and developing prospects. Just my opinion, but I wanted to see if the past draft boards supported that in any way.
That said, we all know how bad the Flyers past track record for drafting D prospects is, but I'm still really excited and hopeful for the kids we have in our current system. - kellyblaise7
Too much is made of the title of whom has drafted whom. I said "draft and developed". We didn't draft Brayden Schenn but we developed him. We didn't draft Brayden Coburn but we developed him. We didn't draft RJ Umberger but we most certainly developed him.
Your right, the New York Rangers are not the model of drafting and developing but only time will tell whether or not we'll be one of those teams. The Rangers haven't created a small window, they've at the very least has put themselves with conversations for a Cup regardless of whether or not they can get over the hump. I don't agree with every move they've made, especially the Keith Yandle deal but they did draft Lundqvist, Staal, Krieder and Stephen. They've definitely have developed Girardi and McDonagh.
It's easy to say you want to be the Chicago Black Hawks but they sucked for years to draft the players they have. Now, today, they make trades to keep going. |

Getting to play the Pens 3 times without Malkin down the stretch will also be yuge. They need to come away from those 3 games at +2 points at least. (frank) I wish we had MDZ back. |

Flyers are now 4 back of the Wings with two games at hand. With Malkin healthy, I felt like the Wings were the weakest team remaining in the playoffs. Now, it may be the Pens.
Flyers really just need to win those head to head games against those teams. |

I would love nothing more than the Pens to miss and the Flyers leap over the Wings. |
