This might be a bit premature but flames look like the best team in the nhl currently, we are supposed to be losing but we're severely outplaying top teams. If we didn't have the worst goals against this year, we would be in the playoffs no sweat. Makes me wanna pull out my Richard and stroke it
- bigbear89

There was a stretch where the Oilers beat the Pens, Bruinsx2 Stars Sharks Rangers and Sabres for good measure. Does that mean they were the best at the time? No, they had a hot streak. The Flames have nothing to lose now except pride. Iirc the Oilers have had a few great stretches when they are completely out of it and the opposition takes them for granted.

Having some success is one thing but best in the NHL is a stretch we can agree....hey you guys had a set back this year it happens and remember Talbot played horrible to start the year so that wouldnt have helped you out while you were struggling with your goaltending tandem either....both of our teams arent that great this year its as simple as that really

I hope so too because even if we were fully healthy on the blueline that right side looks terrible

Good. (frank) veggies and a potato with the steak, replace those with chicken. Well done sir.

Soooo this means Jultz wasn't the problem? Just a scapegoat for people to female dog about when the Oilers lost?

If we lost every game for the rest of the season I would still be happy he's gone. Every time I see #19 on the ice for us I think for a split second, (frank)in Schultz, then I breathe a sigh of relief when I see it's Maroon.

Not a scapegoat. I just despise watching him play without putting in any effort. I would way rather see someone with a little less talent and a lot more heart.

Ya that is way too much money for what he brings. I can't see him getting qualified this offseason.

Do you ever see something like that happening?
- RatedR80

In an ideal world, yes...but I'd be shocked if it actually did happen. I believe that is why Steve left for Tampa because he knew Ken was going to be around for a while.

He's more than welcome to always come back home, though!

Without bothering to watch the link, I assume they're debating on disqualifying the previous years first overall winner from having another shot at it

essentually you won't have the league concerned that we're gonna get it again as they are right now

Tell one of those gms to make us a worthwhile fuking offer and we'll trade it!
Lowball and try and take advantage and we won't. Simple as that.

I didn't see chiarellis facial expressions, but judging by his words he understood the leagues fears, but he was also a little annoyed.
To paraphrase
"This doesn't happen if we didn't win Connor last year"

You just know he's on the hot seat while these discussions are going on and is probably deferential to any and all suggestions. Can't win it twice in a row?-"sure! Whatever u guys think is fair!"
Move the previous winner outside top 5?" sure! That sounds good too!"
Etc etc
