I think it's ridiculous that no-trade clauses are utilized as auto protection. This isn't a team shipping you off, it's the league's desire to expand. But then again, I think NTCs should not exist in general...

Allegedly. The rules aren't set in stone yet and we don't know all the info. I'm under the impression NTCs don not count but NMCs do. And, on that note, I think that NTCs should automatically count. The GM gave that player that piece and it's his fault if he doesn't like it anymore. If GMs don't like it they shouldn't give them which is the best idea.
