That was probably the most complete game the Sabres have played all year and it was against a team fighting for a playoff spot.

The team is coming together. Let's hope it stays that way and they come flying out of the gates next season.

That's if he can keep up this offensive production. Because if not he simply doesn't have the defensive hockey sense to do well in his own end with more skilled players

As I stated on Garth's blog, the league is making an error in judgment in the way they protect the Phaneuf's and Neil's of the game. Eichel and Reinhart are the players the league should be trying to protect from washed up players who it seems sole purpose is to try and injure young more talented then them hockey players. Pach even reminded us how long Neil has been running roughshod over the more talented players in the league. The league decided that it was in the best interest of the league to create the instigator penalty to take fighting out of the game, when in reality, it has had the opposite effect, in that it allows thugs to cheap shot players with barely any retribution. Bogosian tried to make Phaneuf pay for his cheap shot on Reinhart but the linesman doing his best Kevin Collins imitation made sure he protected Phaneuf to the highest degree going so far as to throw himself completely on top of the "steaming pile" so Bogosian couldn't land a punch on him. Why does Phaneuf wear linebacker size shoulder pads if not to use them as a weapon. not many other d-men wear pads that big, and the league wonders why they have concussion issues
