Maybe it's split? like next 2 years is a no trade and then after that it's a nmc? i dunno i just found it really surprising how contradictory the info was
Edit: did you just make an archer reference and i totally missed it ? - Sabresfan-365
If I did it was not intentional |

I think you need to look the word "contradict" up in the dictionary. I did nothing of the sort
You're implying that Panarin is precluded from winning the award because he plays on a strong team, and that's nonsense. Gost makes a strong case, like you say, and in other years he'd be the guy - AxlRose91
I'm saying he should precluded because he's five years older than every other rookie, he should be fully developed physically at this point, mentally situated to being a pro athlete after playing years in Russia at a pro level, and yes, he has the advantage of playing on the best team in the league with the highest quality of line mates. I'm not knocking the guy for his situation, it's not his fault, just saying he should really not be in the running for the Calder, it's kind of a joke.

GMTM also said that nobody on the roster has a no move. He's either a colossal idiot or the info on Bogo is incorrect. - Sabresfan-365
Gionta did for this year, I guess he still does because he could theoretically be waived. Maybe he's talking about next year? Bogo's could have been voided with the trade; I've read that's a thing. |

Would his agent not use that as leverage though? Sign my client now or risk losing him for nothing either way? - Sabresfan-365
You'd like to think negotiations wouldn't get that contentious
But we always have the option to trade him as well
You'd like to think they can work something out that's beneficial to both sides |

This says it kicked in this year, and Fanager has him having a NMC. (they mention gorges' ntc may have been voided after the trade) |

That's not just from Archer. That's been around for quite a while. Also, Archer finally starts next Thursday!
Edit: If anyone has Amazon Prime. Archer season 6 streams for free starting next Tuesday. I missed about half of last season because I moved. Up until then it's been part of the paid portion of Prime. I'm not sure when it starts on Netflix. I didn't see any info for that. |

I actually agree 100% with that point. Pro hockey is pro hockey. If you've been a pro, you should no longer be considered a rookie. Although I suppose that would take Matthews out of the running next season....

I think JVR and co. fall under the pommer/vanek category. They haven't really made any major moves outside of hiring babcock. Of course that could change this summer... - Sabresfan-365
The Leafs? They traded Kessel and Phaneuf. I'd say those are pretty major moves. |

If they don't someone's getting hosed more than likely. Not saying it should be like ROR in Colorado, but negotiation should be a bit contentious or it's no longer a negotiation and just pandering or appeasement. |

Idk... Generally I think ELC deals for prospects like Fasching are pretty standard |

I dont think its quite as simple with college players. otherwise you wouldnt have situations like vesey, schultz and reilly |

Barring unforeseen snags, expect Hudson Fasching of the Gophers to sign with @BuffaloSabres tonight. 20 goals in 37 games this year. |

For college guys it's usually a bit different, but I was talking more about negotiation in general; whether it's negotiating with the hooker you just picked up for a better rate, the drug dealer for a better price on a speedball, or when buying a car, you know the usual stuff one gets up to on a Saturday afternoon. |

I would agree that at some point, yes, Matthews should be taken out of the running, but if Matthews is 19-20 next year, than no. But there should be a rule in place where if a player crosses an age, lets say 21, than they're out of the running for the Calder. Or even if a player is 21 with 3 years in a pro league experience, than they're out.
I think most fans don't care about these stupid awards, but I'm sure the rookies in the league do. With this years rookie class being so deep it seems a shame to let a guy like Panarin come in and swoop the award from them. To me he seems kind of like a ringer.
