at this point, I'd rather just miss the playoffs. I've turned more games off this year than in my entire life combined. I'm sick of watching a team go through the motions without any spark, without any desire to pay the price and have the coaching staff continually make the wrong decisions.

just write the season off, toast the staff (all of them) and start fresh.

- Isles_since_6

after missing the playoffs for a decade, I NEVER want to see this team miss the playoffs again. I've watched enough lousy, miserable Isles hockey over the past 20 years. I don't want to see anymore of it.

Fellas its all about the puck luck, once that changes everything will be fine. It has nothing to do with coaching or the talent or lack of talent on the ice. It's all about puck luck according to Collapseuano

its put up or shut up if you ask me. Crappy cant hide by the excuse he doesnt have assets. He has 3 stud goalies let along one, a good defense (when strait or Zidlicky no playing) and plenty of capable scorers. Its not a young team anymore. hate to say it too. that milbury comment is right on the money. How many times have I said cizikas has scoring line talent.

Can people stop saying Tavares play has to do not having anyone? he is the star center and suppose to make everyone around him better. He doesn't need support he is suppose to provide it for others. If that is true than he shouldn't be playing 1st line center and move to the wing himself.

Right not only Okposo, Nielsen, Cizikas, Clutterbuck, Martin, Leddy, Boychuck , Hamonic and Lee have shown the desire, all the others are going through the motions.

How much long is everyone going to say they like PRINCE. But last I checked has 1 goal in 10 games and getting plenty of ice time.

yeah, "we ran into a hot goalie" is my personal favorite. Hey Crappy, its the NHL all goalies are good. Ask JT with that stupid shootout move he tries. These goalies are best in the world.

Nelson was scratched a few games ago. The problem is Capuano has used every forward playing with Tavares but the three on the fourth line. I think if he broke up the fourth line he might see some success. I think he did it briefly against Florida last week and it worked.
- kear20

I've been talking about breaking up that 4th line for a while now. Seemed to work during the Florida game like you mentioned.

I don't think the Isles were bad this year. They may not have been as good or consistent as last year, but they were still a solid team. But the team playing the last four weeks has been dog s**t. Its not luck. Its effort. Its rhythm. its being in sync with each other. This team is out of sorts right now. The players are playing together like oil and water. The coach changing the lineups and lines every ten minutes doesn't help matters.

I dont agree I think they've been hard to watch more often than not. JT has been especially hard to watch the majority of the season.

They have not been sharp this year. The goalies have covered up a lot of issues.

I get he is frustrated but he pouts like my 7 yr old when things don't go his way. He has been really tough to watch but I'm sure I would be beyond frustrated too if I had to watch my winger Bailey refuse to carry the puck in every time I pass it to him and just watch him dump it and get beat to the puck every time

He does pout and I get he is frustrated, but I was hoping for more leadership from JT. The problem is you need to look to improve the team every year and not just once in a while like the Halak, Leddy, and Boychuk moves. Teams around the Isles are always looking to improve and Garth has been too willing to do nothing.

Too soft, Too lazy, no high end forwards, bad coaching and a GM afraid to make a big move = failure

Looks like Cappy eluding to bringing someone up from Bridgeport. Looks like Strome or Nelson could be shown a seat and Deservingly so. Strome more than anyone.

Hey Dan - I know you follow soundtigers. Is Alan Quine deserving of a call up? seems to be putting up some good points. I haven't see him play.

JT is not a captain I hate to say it. They need some one to go in there have a players only meeting and basically let them have it. Enough is enough someone needs to step up in that locker room and fast

maybe JT isn't a true captain? Give the C to Boychuk or Cizikas. These guys give it their all.

JT and most of the other Isles spend time doing pirouettes instead of making something special happen. I ask again, When is last time Tavares made a Highlight Reel goal?

im not against that. that said Bailey was not the worst one on ice last night. Actually after this stupid Pass in 1st period he actually played a strong game. He few good shots on net. He outplayed Strome and Nelson but that didn't take much.

Also Bailey shouldn't have gotten boarding penalty as we all know he doesn't check. Flyers should of got embellishment penalty instead.

This sums it up nicely Vukota. This team was not build correctly outside the 4th line and they are not coached correctly. It was an epic fail bringing back the same coaches and team. They did not seem to learn anything from the Caps loss.

The Islanders should practice just shooting and standing in front of the net, That is all they need to do. Shoot and crash the net. It seems a soon as a shot is taken they go back, Crash the net cause havoc for the goalie. Most of these Islanders need to go back to hockey 101.

Well hopefully they blow this crap up if they choke and miss the playoffs or get bounced in the 1st rd again. Sadly that's our only hope for change

I don't disagree but you cant score if you don't shoot. Tavares has 4 shots in 3 games.
