I think you just don't dress Bennett out of principal at this point.

Did some digging of my own on the Pens record with and without BB, I came up with nothing. I DID see that Wikipedia is referring to him as "Best"...thought that was interesting. Maybe they forgot to add "patient".

Brittle Beau will get hurt again, but I'm rooting for the guy. Anybody who has this much adversity deserves a break.......maybe I shouldn't use that word.

Deserves some good luck. Yes, that.

I'm no doctor, and I assume our training staff know best, but I'd think with Lovejoy and Pouliot looking for a bit of ice you give Doumalin the night off to just to ensure all is good. Jersey is one of the more winnable games left on the schedule, and too me seems like an ideal time to get one of Lovejoy/Pouliot into a game all while giving Dumo an extra couple days to rehab whatever tweak he suffered.

Scott Wedgewood was the WJCU20 goalie for Team Canada about 5-6 years ago, his stock has fallen since then, but I'm certain with that past pedigree he must have some competence as a depth goalie.

Beau or no? I'm not sure, the bottom 6 rookies are just doing such a great job on the forecheck and earning their keep, its hard to pull a guy out.

I still think Sundqvist would gain from AHL development. If Beau's heathy I'd play him over Sundqvist and send Sundqvist down. Now, when Malkin's heathy...

Yeah I'm fine with that, but I do not think Bennett should be bumping Rust or Kuhn, I know Kuhn doesn't show up on the score sheet a ton and his fancy stats are only average, but having that big body with decent speed grinding teams down in the corners and along the boards is something this team has dearly missed for a few years... Maybe Beau bumps Sheary upon Malkins return?

Kunitz- Sid- Horn
Hags- Geno- Kessel
Bennett- Bonino- Fehr
Rust- Cullen- Kuhn

??

Is this the F grouping when Healthy? I like it...

Nah, you dress him and hope the next injury (should if happen, knock on wood, etc) just puts him out of his misery and he can't return to hockey.

I dont know why you would hope injury up on him, but I dont see how he fits into our identity. He has puck skills, but whats driving our success is the intensity we are playing at, I dont think Beau can play that way, especially not with the injury bug in the back of his mind. We need players going balls to the wall right now.

Bb can easily replace sheary.. We aren't talking plots here. BB is good when he is in4th line mins would be good for him..if he sucks then take him out or when he gets hurt again.

I think Beau did enough earlier in the year to warrant a spot when he's able to return. Don't care if he's been hurt in the past, this is his last year more than likely and he isn't worse than 12 other forwards.

I am not actually hoping for another injury... but you can't not play someone for fear of an injury. That is just silly logic. But if he does get hurt again, I'd rather he just hang up his skates as a result from it. Being hurt every year of his career should be enough by now.

Injuries are going to happen. It's doubtful we will ever run out top 12 for more than a game or two so I would definitely play Bennett now as depth option.

Said this before & I'll say it again.

Saying the Pens are hard to play against is 1 thing.

I want the Pens the be hard to beat!

C'mon Sully, let's get there & then further still!!

I'd give BB a go. He has played well this season, & just adds another ingredient into this strange mix of talents that is the Pittsburgh Penguins!

Let's go Pens.

I really hope they start solid & get control early. 0 - 4!!! NEVER FORGET!!

Not sure what your definition of hard to beat is, but in my estimation that's exactly what we are right now. We shellacking teams without Geno. If you mean you want us to be throwing around heavy hits left and right that's simply not going to happen. We don't have the pieces for that.

No not saying that. It would be a common agreement that certain teams are hard to beat - Caps, Kings, Hawks, & maybe Tampa but I'm not convinced of their right to say that.

Then other teams are hard to play.

I would like the Pens to be in that top echelon of hard to beat teams which they aren't there yet. If they can continue to beat the teams below them & the supposed 'sure bet wins', & get wins against those above us then I would consider us hard to beat. Or at least get points out of most games we play. We're definitely on our way but just not quite there.

I think if you ask the past 6 teams we played they'd agree we are hard to beat. 2 weeks ago we were barely in playoff contention and now we are fighting for the 2 seed without Geno in the line up. We can still get better. I don't know how all that translates to the playoffs but I like their mental make up. The caps game had all the ingredients for us to go off the tracks and they kept their composure. Caps were big and hit did some antagonistic things and we kept our heads. We don't lay out devastating hits but we take them and keep moving that's grit imo. And it's tiring chasing the puck for the majority of the game which is what we are making teams do

Bennett HAS to play. Sundquist can move back and forth from the minors and stay active and Bennett cant. I would rather have all of my guys playing actual games than have them sit on the sidelines. Besides, he is talented enough when healthy and this at least gives him a chance to earn an extension in the offseason.

Im sure if Dumoulin is playing he is 100% healthy. Cant see them taking a chance on that at this point.

Ah I get what you're saying. We have more to prove. And I think the team feels like that too which I love. They're not complacent right now.

At this point in the game I would not consider Tampa in that top eschelon. They should be but they've been really stagnant. I certainly have the Ducks there and probably Dallas and St Louis.

I'd almost rather sit him even if its a 99.9% healthy for today's game. Its NJ, and they have in some random callup in goal. I hate saying this, but it should be a free game.

I agree with you but I expect Hynes and Shero will have the Devils pumped up to play the Pens. No games for granted at this point.

Ducks are where they are due to that great run - 22 or 24 game with majority wins. I don't rate them quite yet. But in saying that all the teams I mentioned have bad games. I just hate the Pens dropping games due to feeble efforts (what appears to be feeble), & poop play (like all fans). If we get beat by the better team ok but that team better top 3 in the comp! Hopefully this season gets better & we become that team everyone is waiting a Sid & Geno led team is.

I'd say Dallas & Blues are hard to play teams for different reasons, not hard to beat.
