the smart move is to pay a little extra and get stamkos and keep the assets so they can make trades to get 1 or 2 d men IMO - homiedclown
We've agreed too much lately, i miss the old days |

they moved zadorov, myers, gringo, lemieux, compher, armia, a first rd pick and pick 31 in the draft to get these 3 guys, plus the traditional 2nd rd pick they would have received for staff
I don't think the cupboard is full enough to give another 4 pieces like that plus for hall
oilers would want mccabe, guhle, a first (maybe 2017), bailey and fasching
no way I give up that many assets, hell they would want reinhart plus 2 of those probably - homiedclown
I'm not sure Hall is moved for youth, IMO he only gets moved for a top pair defenseman. They need to start winning now and young defenseman and draft picks just aren't going to make that happen. |

He's having his Drew Stafford moment. Whichever team bites and gives him 4-5 mil will regret it in a year or two. - Sabresfan-365
He'll show up as number 10 on the bad contracts list. |

It doesn't make sense for them to move Hall for anything other than a top pair defenseman
Obviously we aren't giving up Risto
So I don't see a way we make a trade with them unless they feel they can get that defenseman with the pick we'd give up |

I think the contract situation has clearly been a distraction
And I think that it's understated that the talent he's played with has been pretty average since StLouis was traded
We're on here all the time talking about how we need to find talented enough wingers to play with Eichel...
I don't see how it's any different with Stamkos
Of course his #s are gonna drop when he's consistently playing with guys he's gotta carry- instead of guys that can also help "create"
It's very reasonable to think his #s would leap back up if he were playing with Jack or Sam or O'Reilly - jdfitz77
1. Tampa is sitting at 89 points right now. They are hardly average around Stamkos.. even is his down year.
2. Stamkos is a center so he will not be playing with Jack and ROR. He will not come here and play wing and neither will ROR. That's a fact and neither is going to budge on that. Perhaps Jack could be moved to wing but not likely.

to me i think the only unknown on Lehner will be can he stay healthy.. When he was playing i liked his game.

Hall won't be here, we just don't have what the Oilers want unless we trade Risto and I don't see that happening.
My bet, Hall never leaves Edmonton until he's a UFA (or a year away from it for a lot less than he should get) as I don't see any GM giving up a top pair guy for him as it's very difficult to find top pair guys on the back end. |

The smarter move would be to lose out this year and draft the next Stamkos in the draft ... for NOTHING |

that puts ROR as your 3rd line center then |

The FACT is that your OPINION is just an opinion
It's entirely possible that Jack could play the wing. Or even that Stamkos MIGHT be willing if his center was as talented as Eichel instead of Filppula or Namestnikov
And I wasn't speaking about Tampa overall...
I was speaking of his linemates
He's been playing with no one close to his talent since StLouis left
Try again sir |

They might be able to get a guy (from the Ducks possibly...) that could turn into a top pair guy
But ya... I don't see Arizona (for example) giving up OEL for him
Or Montreal giving up Subban, etc etc |
|
|
|
This is a petty point but one I don't get... Why if they knew Fasching would be up with the club this year and play games, wouldn't they ask him what number he wanted? I'm sure the kid doesn't care and is just happy to play but 24 is open and he probably would've preferred that to 52.. |

Those guys are just to hard to find and even though I like Hall a lot he frustrates the hell out of me when I watch him play. For some reason, he just doesn't read the play as well as he should and leaves me scratching my head sometimes. |

Has anyone that has come up from Rochester this year been assigned that number?

He's not playing wing for anyone ......... Stamkos that is. I believe he's made that pretty clear already. |
