My stance on pysyk aside, Ruhwedel has been overlooked for a while now. Not saying he's some blue chip guy but when you think about the d-men they've used on the big club over the past few years... - Sabresfan-365

A 18 yo prospect and a college kid, neither of whom have an nhl game undar their belt, over Pysyk and Weedy? Not me. - LandlordTom
Not a fan of Pysyk. I was, and then this year happened. We saw McCabe leap frog him, and its not even close. I would imagine as more time passes this will happen again with someone and again, and again. Etc. |

That's your opinion just like my opinion he has played most of the season with 25 and 6 what do you expect?
I think Bogosian is a flash in the pan defensive liability. I'm sure others disagree. |

Defenceman grow at different levels... Pair him up with someone better than two regular healthy scratches and maybe his numbers will be better next year. |

They shouldn't. It's been what he's known for.
He's played great recently. But as others have mentioned, it's been against poor teams. |

It is my opinion. Thats why i said IMO
Did McCabe start with bogo on the 2nd pairing? Or did he earn it? I also think that Pysyk and McCabe played quiet a bit together at the start of the season.
I think Bogo is much better than people give him credit for. He may miss some things but i dont recall, especially not recently, screaming at the game or at my TV because of something that he did. Risto gets caught out of position in his own end more than anyone on the team. He does not recieve a fraction of the hate that Bogo does. Bogo is the new Weber for a lot of people i think.
But to get back on topic, I think Pysyk will not be here at the END of next season, we will package him in a trade or leave him to be plucked in the expansion. I don't believe that Dan or Tim are very big fans of his.
Again, IMO. |

If you put Pysk down there he'd look like he was on another level too... Not blasting Ruhwedel. He obviously could take 25's spot right now and probably out play Franson too but Pysyk has played all right in the NHL and does things that other D on this team can't do. - bluengold12
ruhwedel has had more than a handful of gwg's in rochester
not sure that is in pysyk's game |

bogo being drafted at #3 overall has to have some substance too it. He has been playing pretty decent. All the players have |

Until he started scoring goals and beefing up his plus/minus that way he had the worst plus/minus on the team by a wide margin. You haven't seen anything that stood out to you??? How about getting completly whiffed on by McDavid to start the Oilers game... Or being in the complete wrong spot to have the puck go off his stick for the game losing goal in overtime a week or so ago. Bogosian is far worse in his own end than Risto. Risto may have a worse plus/minus right now but he also hasn't been on the offensive luck that Bogosian has. And most of his points have come off of the powerplay which doesn't effect that.
If we package Pysyk fine. But it better be fore and Eberle type player. Obviously we'd have to give more to get him but the hate for this guy is simply absurd when you have others on the team who have the worst hockey sense in their own end for someone drafted in the top 5 of a draft.

I forgot we had our top notch forward group out there for the opening FO against McDavid....
Who took the FO against him again?
Yes, defense should always be prepared but do you expect someone to skate through your 3 forwards on the opening faceoff like butter?
And no one is perfect, but i am glad you could name me one time from a month ago. Cause i can name about 4 or 5 from the last game from our #1 STUD! |

Are we thinking about the same play? I was talking about the gift Bogo gave McDavid to start the game |

Eveyrone else I know thinks Bogosian is terrible in his own end. He has ZERO hockey sense. And is out of position a lot. If anything McCabe has helped cover some of that up for him as of late allowing Bogosian to join the rush more. He isn't necessarily suppose to be known as a offensive defenceman but he also should never be confused with having a strong defensive game. |

I didn't say he is the most reliable. I said he gets trashed on more than he should and he is def in a league above Mark Pysyk. He is the new Weber. He may be bad, but not as bad as people make him out to be. |
