For humor "tankathon" mock draft (you can even change the draft order by clicking the sim lottery button)

The suspense is killing me.

How about a couple top prospects you don't like as much/like more than consensus?

I'll throw out some stuff: my dream is the Flyers get 1 of Rubtsov or Jost. They are right in their range. Then probably Bellows. But then it gets iffy. I really don't want a d man, but Bean and Fabbro are right around there. Maybe Logan Brown...but that may be a slight reach. You go bpa, but I wouldn't be opposed to a trade down.

Oh and here's my draft hot take, I have Juolevi and Sergachev ahead of Chychrun. I've really put thought into that one.

How can you not have Charlie McAvoy in there

I forgot to list him. I really don't know much about him though besides RH offensive d man. He's probably not as purely dynamic as Bean...maybe not as good 2 way as Fabbro, from what I've read. Those 3 are lumped together more or less. Like I said, I might consider a trade down. With the extra second they have, maybe a slight trade up.

I am really really liking Rubtsov from what I've read. I've only seen highlights though. Rumor has it he may bolt to the CHL. That would be terrific. I love how he's described. Almost like a Russian Dubois.

Max Jones I am not so high on. I know you are though. But if I'm selecting a PWF I have him above Gauthier.

I like his game, it could compliment what we are building here. Then again you can say this about plenty of players.

Jones has a ton of skill. No two ways about it. I know his usage and have seen him so I'm not stat judging, even though you'd always like to see more. It's kind of a draft philosophy with me that I'm always looking for play drivers rather than compliment pieces early, talent provided. It's why I rate Tkachuk a bit lower too.

My biggest worry is in a handful of years, when the d men are all mid twenties and entering their primes, our play drivers will be aging. I'd like to keep the window open...dare I say it looking for who is going to be the future 1C. It's why Rubtsov and Jost, both of who have that potential and could be steals, intrigue me.

You need to find the right balance, can't always look to draft one style of player and then hope to find the right spots to put them.

I'm open to finding a good range & style of players to blend together.

How many elite power forwards are 1st rounders though? I have no doubt we need a big winger who can score goals, but I find they can be found in the 2nd and after for better value. I do like Bellows though. I think he's more of a pure sniper than a power forward crease crasher.

I'm far less worried about who is going to be the next Simmer 5 years from now than I am about who is Giroux's successor, not that Jost or whoever will be that. I think a player of Jones's ilk, who absolutely has value, can be found somewhere else than the 1st.

Love when you guys talk prospects especially when Hexy has gathered some nice picks. Just nice to be focused on potential playoff hockey too. Islanders down 4-6.

I like Bellows as well........you can find any kind of player in any round (some take longer to develop)

I'm not looking to take a player who may or may not not be somebody who can replace somebody down the line, I'm interested in the BPA, developing them & then will worry about finding a place for them in the 3 or so years it will be before we even see them try to crack the lineup.

My point was that I personally view the similarly rated skilled play driver as BPA over the complimentary guy. It's why I prefer Nylander and Dubois and Keller to Tkachuk (Dubois might be consensus over him by now though). Jones strikes me more as the fit pick. But you rate him very highly so he may be BPA to you. I'm not radically opposed to him (like a Gauthier); I just have some guys higher. If he is BPA, and he is head and shoulders above a "skill" player, snag him, I say.

Really hoping Lindblom decides to come over next season. He offers size in the wing, which right now is in short supply in the pipeline. At times, he seems to be the forgotten prospect. He's already played in Swedish Elite League for two years. Isn't Swedish elite at least on par with the AHL, even a little better? The only difference is rink size, no?

Big fan of Max Jones: kids going to get a ton of points next year when that entire first line on the Knights is gone. He's big, fast and hits hard. Also interested in Bellows and Jost at where the Flyers should be drafting.

I'd love to see them take a gamble on Tyler Benson in the second if he falls, and pick up Luke Green or Jacob Cederholm two right handed D men to compliment all the left handed prospects.

What result do we want today from pens v wings? I guess a regulation pits win?
Just put Detroit down to help insure we have a WC spot.
Then we can catch Pitts in the 2 head to head games we have left against them.
Clearly I will not actually root for the birds that can't fly.

I think its better if Detroit loses in regulation. Personally I am rooting for a meteor and a fire.
