Ehh...maybe he aggravated something, but during the Flyers huge last month he was a vital part of it. He was back to his old self at even strength -- people probably just remember the pp awkward dump ins, but his overall game was sharp. It looked like he came back from his injury nicely. But he's been awful the last handful of games. No two ways about it. Hopefully it's just a lull.
- Mononoke

I disagree.. He has looked incredibly slow, weak, and his mental side is even off (but thats probably because he is not confident within his physical capabilities). He hasnt been the same since the injury. Good plays here and there, but as a whole totally different than before.

EDIT: Fashionably late. What about Ingram doe last night?

His two 3s in the first half were nice. I still don't get how he's the likely #1 pick, though.

it's been an unusually busy march, feels like we haven't left our desks in a couple weeks. There's light at the end of the tunnel, though.

He's always been slow. He's always been weak. He does look off mentally. As I said, he looks awful right now and in recent weeks. But it's making people forget he put together a real solid stretch post injury which coincided with the streak. If you disagree that he did, I don't know what else to say. My eyes and the stats told me otherwise. Just like they're saying he's been very disappointing of late. It's why I'm happening he can snap out of it.

Streit has lost his confidence ever since hot shot Ghostbear came to town. It's time to send the showoff back to lehigh valley to help the phantoms make the playoffs

Fun fact courtesy of Charlie at BSH: "Over the past three seasons, Gudas actually ranks 9th among all NHL defensemen in even strength shots on goal per sixty minutes, in the same vicinity as guys like Jake Muzzin, Victor Hedman, Alex Edler, and Dougie Hamilton."

Lethal weapon.

It does go to show this isn't entirely out of left field. Gudas like most lesser skilled d men scoring goals is dependent on puck luck. But he makes his own puck luck. And a lot of it.

He def had a nice stretch, which is why it's even stranger that his play has dipped as of late. Dipped being a kind word too. He looks off with almost every aspect of his game from judgment to decision making to puck control. You'd think he'd have this happen coming back from injury but instead he played well as you said.

As mentioned above, I think his recent performance has a lot to do with him removing the stupid penalties from his game. Seems like when he concentrates on playing smart good things happen.

he seems to have a knack for getting the puck through whereas luke schenn always seemed like he would put it right into a defender's shins every time...

Really? I always thought Luke was actually really good at getting shots through. One of his best traits.

He's rarely even going for the hits anymore. Which is good...hits make the fans jump up, but even a successful hit has a good chance of leaving you out of position. And a missed hit? Yikes. But people still have it in the back of their mind going towards him that he could light them up. And he keeps them honest now and again. He's a smarter and better player than some fans (hit sumbody!) think. Now that he's cleaned the poop off his game, he's showing it more front and center.

Bad time of the season to go into a lull, but let's hope thats all it is and he can get back to playing the level he was earlier on. Could his body be wearing down due to his age or is it mental now that Ghost has taken over as the offensive driven defenceman? Maybe hes trying to push a little to much knowing that his role on top pp unit is no longer his and trying to prove something which is backfiring and not playing a simple game?
- Buzzo

If he's tired or has strained something then he should be rested for Medvedev.

But he was playing well in February and into March. I don't agree that he's been poor ever since the injury. It's possible the extra minutes he got after the MDZ injury have taken a toll.

I'm not Bill, but here are my choices

MVP: Giroux or Ghost.
Ashbee: Ghost
Class guy: lots of good choices here, but I'll go with Nick Schultz
most improved: Brayden Schenn

- BiggE

Maybe Radko Gudas (gold) is a dark horse for the most improved. He has been trmendous down the stretch and in general has made all of us quickly forget that other Schenn. Ryan White has been pretty damn good too.

Yep. Although he did have a nice hip check in I think the Detroit game. I was shocked he didn't miss! lol

I was really down on him after his spate of bad/stupid penalties in February but he has turned me around.

Jake is fighting it right now. I think his legs looked better last game than in the previous ones, but he's definitely looking like someone coming off injury. Hopefully he rounds into form.

The Gagner-Cousins line was solid last night. Didn't score but they were one of the better lines. Tangent but I never understood the "he has to play top 6" argument. The third line is just a sheltered scoring line anyway. In fact playing "top 6" with Coots is much harder assignments than with Cousins.

If Hall was really available at the draft from Edmonton, would it be worth it for the Flyers without destroying their future team? How much is too much?
