I'm starting to think people think Hall is a wussy, the kid is tough and gritty. As for Simmonds, he is a pretty one-dimensional player and good to have the PP, but White (yes he sucks) has shown being a slot presence will reward you with goals. Simmonds and his wiggling along the boards and losing it can be replaced. - Glak18
Simmonds career as a Flyer: 357 games, 242 points, only 97 of which came on the PP.

Okay.. totally disagree, but I respect your opinion.
You basically have indicated that White could fill in for him. You flat out said he is a "good depth player".
Yet, he is one of the best power forwards in the game. Has averaged 28 goals a year over his Flyers career. Is our toughest forward, and is a true leader. - jak521
Ok thats your opinion, but the generic terms of "tough" and "true leader" is what gets me.
So you would consider Hartnell one of the best power forwards in the game? |

Poor choice of comparison. Hartsy is a terrible skater and takes penalties like it's his job. Hartsy is down more than up, while Simmonds is complete opposite and never goes down it seems. |

Edmonton doesn't have to move anyone, but there is a possibility he could be moved.
P.S. McDavid and Hall don't play together. - Glak18
Yeah you're right he plays with Drai. Doesn't really change the logic though. Trading for Hall is at best a lateral move. You're going to have to overpay. And if you don't, someone else will or EDM will explore other avenues. Hall is a good player but he's out of our price range. They will ask for Ghost++. I can virtually promise you that. |

Superstar status confirmed. - Glak18
No one called him a superstar, but to call him a depth player is ignorant for lack of a better word. If Hexy publicly stated Wayne Simmonds is on the trade block, I have no doubt in my mind a minimum of 20 teams would hop on the phone immediately. |

Yes..
If I had to make a list off of the top of my head in no particular order:
Hartnell
Simmonds
Backes
Benn
Hall
would all be on the list. |

Are we trying to build a team around one player now?
Last I checked Hextall was really into this whole, make a roster solid top to bottom, thing.
We finally have a good thing going. We have very solid young forwards. We have a crop of young guys knocking at the door. We have good goalies. Yet you want to send
Simmonds, MDZ, Sanheim and a 1st for.... Hall?
Have at it. |

Did i say anything remotely close to that? You're the only one throwing terms around loosely such as superstar and depth player. He's not the franchise player you solely focus your build around, but he certainly is a guy who is core guy that has a high impact on the team's build. Wayne Simmonds is one of top core guys. When i think of a depth player, I think of Raffl. Wayne Simmonds would be our captain if it weren't Giroux. |

You would be comfortable overpaying signifigantly for Taylor Hall? If not then I really dont understand why we're having this conversation. |

I'm sorry did I fall asleep and miss the Flyers win the cup?
Edmonton management sucks, what they need is older players to mesh with young skilled ones....they haven't done that.
Only a Flyer fan would take Simmonds over Hall |

So Hall who has played 4 more games and has 9 more points than Simmonds is Superstar, yet he's only a depth player? Oh and they both have 25 goals. |

That's your fault if your definition of depth player means replacement top 12 guy. |
