If Hall gets traded, he's not getting traded for Hamonic.
No offense to Hamonic, but Hall is a first line LW on any team in the league not the Capitals or the Stars. Chia's not setting the team back 5 years to get Hamonic.
Realistically if the Oilers are going for Hamonic, they're gonna offer some package centered around Eberle. Last time Ebs and Tavares played together it worked out pretty well... - 6ringslowe
Setting them back from what? Being at or near the bottom of the league year after year? |

Hamonic doesnt have to be traded, if he does its as a favor by garth.
Since he doesnt have to move him he can wait until he gets the deal he wants.
Staple also said he doesnt see halak playing for the islanders next year
Maybe sending hamonic, halak and our first to a team like calgary brings in a bigger return then trying to get taylor hall out of edmonton. Calgary needs G help and has some good young forwards
Edit: anyone else think that teams should start collecting picks to make mcdavid and offer sheet in a few years? |

I stopped after "Quick Hit" - CrimsKiller
I've stopped arguing with his credilibity over the last year or so. He has been right on several things regarding my team. |

Karlsson isn't going to EDM unless Mcdavid is involved. So not happening.
To Ott: Hall
To EDM: Hoffman, Weicoch & 2016 1st (8th - 11th overall) - Erik6Karlsson5
His was just a joke.
But this garbage.

Here's the thing, NOT many teams have top pairing dmen available to trade off, so teams will trade off whatever is necessary. So it all depends on the supply & demand |

Hall is overrated. The oilers have had all these first overall picks and have drafted the wrong player every time with the exception of Mcdavid who any idiot would have taken first (ie, the oilers). Yakupov is one of the biggest busts in NHL history, Nuge is a decent 2nd line centre, and the Oilers will be kicking themselves for years for taking Taylor over Tyler. Now they think they can just dump one of their busts for some stud d-man to fix everything. The franchise should be relegated to the ECHL. - hankthetank

Yeah because Taylor Hall is the reason why this team is sucking, talk about a strawman...
He absolutely is a franchise player, his stats match up with players like Tavares. I don't see how you can even dispute that he is not. He has the pedigree and the stats to back it up. Plus he is young and signed at a reasonable contract for several more years. All of this equates to a player with value much higher than Hamonic. His stats in the new year have slumped a little but he still has 25 goals and 60 points.
Don't sit there as a Canucks fan and try to pretend that you have any clue about the Oilers' situation. - 6ringslowe
This is where I differ, Hall is a good player but plays with a boat load of talent, Tavares plays with NO ONE and has carried the isles into PO's, so lets not compare stats and realize the difference of the players which JT has carried his team and Hall has not..... |

Yeah it was discussed:
Simmonds
Sanheim
Streit / Del Zotto
for
Hall
Simmonds as part of this deal would be a big mistake. They can keep hall.Simmonds has had similar point totals.Besides doesn't Hall get hurt Alot? Whoever trades for him and gives up a ton loses this trade.
Edmonton fans would want more, Philly fans wouldn't want to give up that much. - Glak18

This argument can go either way. JT has played with some pretty decent players, both with experience and defensive capabilities. Hall, on the other hand, has played with other young inexperienced defensively deficient (but offensively talented) forwards. The D in NYI get the fwds the puck too, while the D in EDM has been a train-wreck. I don't see a lot of highlights with JT pushing the play up the ice from behind his own blueline, but this is Hall's forte.
At the end of the day, I think I'd rather have JT because of his maturity and because his overall game is better, but this statement that Hall has been surrounded by better players isn't exactly correct. |

I would be interested in Hall.
I have talked with our 8 Blues fans about being open to keeping Shattenkirk and possibly trading Petro with the right deal. - carcus
THIS is interesting. Petro for Hall....hmmm...I think given the other young talent on EDM I would jump at a deal involving these two. |

The situation with STL gets really interesting if you add Yakupov to the mix. I can see a scenario where a deal is consumated with Shattenkirk/Pietrangelo and Schwartz for Hall and Yakupov as the core of it. - Max.Betts
To even suggest Schwartz being traded is laughable. The Blues will NOT trade him. He's their future core along with Tarasenko. |
