Question. Is Simmonds getting suspended for a third misconduct? Or is that instigators? |

Not the end of the world, but a very big missed opportunity. Not all that surprised the Flyers didn't take the gift of a Red Wings loss and make the most of it. Definitely frustrating. First PP unit blows...that needs to be fixed immediately. |

POS loss to a POS bottom feeder. 1 point against Jackets and Yotes. If they miss the playoffs, that will be the reason. And the absurd 2-8 shootout record.
Has anyone confirmed what happened to Neuvirth? I find it hard to believe he got injured stretching in warmups. - PLindbergh31
Can't lose to crap teams...CBJ...the Yotes. Those are the types of losses in a playoff race that have you on the outside looking in. Remember we got all excited last year and finished out of the mix. All it costs us then was about 8 draft spots. SMH... |

Yes they can. As long as they win the next game. If they keep doing that they are in...it's when they don't do it. 2-1-1 on the road trip you take it and move on
On giroux. It was absolutely a dive and it's sickening Bc it's not the first time he's done it when their having trouble scoring. Karma coming back on that one but then again somehow I believe he'll be available for the next one |

The top 4 D men from the Hershey Bears - apparently!
No seriously, he was a little tender around his derrière! Probably thought there was something hard on its way in again! |

Your homophobic jokes aren't funny, you can go away now.
After watching the 'contentious' goal last night again this morning, I think it is absolutely a goal and is Manning's fault for pushing Domi into Mason. I still don't understand why Manning is playing over Medvedev. |

I saw some of the replays this morning, and I was wondering what happened between white and oel. Looks like oel speared him. Oel was pretending that he was a goon. |

You can clearly see his head snap back on contact. And why would he leave the game with 2.5 min left on a PP? Wouldn't he tell the staff he dove and stay out there at this critical moment? I've never seen a player take a dive by throwing themselves head first into the boards either. If you did that you wouldn't have a brain to concuss. - Mononoke
He obviously skipped the last part of the game to try and justify the dive.
Like when he skipped a whole week of games to justify his dive after Subban hit him in the chin. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrapup: Fluke Goal, Smith Send Flyers to 2-1 Loss in the Desert - bmeltzer
I don't know how much of a fluke that goal by Stone was. I understand Mason was bumped and his mask needed to be adjusted but you play through it. You play until the whistle blows. When guys like Mason and even Simmonds lose focus for one second because they made an error in judgement in the dying monents of a period, they have to be held accountable for the mistake and learn from it. |

He literally couldn't see.
With Arizona leading 1-0, Manning bumped Max Domi in front of the net. Domi’s arm hit Mason’s mask. Mason then never saw Michael Stone’s point shot whip by him as the clock ran out in the second period.
“My mask came pushed off to the side and my chin guard got up in my line of sight,” Mason, starting for the 10th time in 11 games, said. “I couldn’t see a thing. I didn’t have enough time to get it adjusted to see.”
Mason tugged at his mask in protest as the referees went to first check on the time. It was determined the goal came with 0.5 seconds left.
Coach Dave Hakstol then issued a coach’s challenge for goaltender interference, but after another review, the goal stood.
The explanation?
“I didn’t get any,” Mason said. “I’m not sure their reasoning. But I couldn’t see a thing out of the mask.” |

That's hockey. I watched the play as many times as anyone else. Mason didn't rush to adjust his mask the moment he was bumped. Manning knocked Domi into him. This isn't the first time in the history of hockey this has happened. |

Apparently you have to do what Price and Holtby do and immediately take off your mask in order to sell it to the refs to get the play blown dead. That's what it's going to start coming down to on plays like this. Similar to the way players still throw their head back and immediately grab their face on a light high stick that grazes them to get the penalty called.
Either way, I don't blame the loss on that goal. Arizona has played better of late but there's no excuse for losing to that team this time of the year. |

It was pretty much an unenjoyable game to watch from the jump. No sustained pressure, too many one and done shots. Too many players trying to do too much by themselves.
It was a very chippy, unevenly called game, but that was to be expected when Ian Walsh refs. I hate to bust on a local product such as Ian, but it seems most of his games turn into head scratchers too often.
It was a shame G had to leave due to the bonk on the noggin. I agree that it didn't look that terrible a hit when it happened. It seemed at first like G was playing it up to make sure he drew a major. It was only shortly later when he skated off, had a discussion with the trainers, and was escorted to the locker room, that I realized it was worse than it looked.
But that type of retaliation is not surprising after you take out their captain and their icon on an unnecessary hit into the boards. |

This is what I suggested last night. It's happened to me before and it's not as easy to just play though it as you might think. Now he could have gone into his butterfly and just hoped it would hit him but that's not your natural instinct. It happens. Bad luck in a way. |
