I agree, any of those guys will look great in blue and white in the future. Getting Matthews would accelerate things a little bit, and make next season a little more exciting. but I have waited this long for the organization to start managing the team the proper way. I can wait a few more years. - vermie22
Matthews would be exactly what the doctor ordered. A first line centre that could step directly into the NHL. We wouldn't need to give a max contract to Steven Stamkos and with Matthews almost one year of age older then the pack, makes him physically more ready.
The Leafs have a dearth of gifted small wingers, but require a blue chip centre and some defensive depth. The Leafs are a small team and need to get bigger on the wings and the back end. If the Leafs finish 30th, then picking in the top 4 will allow them to bigger up front, with either Matthews, either of the two Finns, or Tzachuk. The goaltending will take care of itself, due to the possibility of expansion and teams not wanting to lose a good goaltender in the expansion draft. Players like Kapanen and Lipsic should be moved, to shore up other area's on the team, or for draft picks, or positioning. Leafs look like they're ready to start moving up the standings, in the next couple of years. It's nice to see depth, a fully stocked farm team and a pocket full of draft picks, the next 3 years. All good moving forward.
Yup, and she destroyed her car on Friday. She is fine, but was waved across a line of traffic, and there was a car coming up the lane, smash.. Totalled her new Mazda 2.
However, when they finish school, work is easier to find. So it seems. Trade off.
Took me all morning, but its a masterpiece. Toughest part was do I use Airplane or Aeroplane. But when you really think about it, obviously Lou would say Aeroplane

Lou will find a goalie. That won't be an issue. Draft picks are like gold to gms and since we have a plethora of them, I can see them moving them rather than kapanen or lipstick. These are guys who have shown they can play the system the leafs want to play. I can see Percy or possibly Harrington being moved before those.
Getting Matthews is best case scenario but we don't have many wingers with size, or 1st line possibility. Unless we consider marner to be a winger, he is the only one with 1st line potential. Others are at best 2nd liners. Getting one of the Finns or Tkachuk would solidly the 1st line for us, with nylander as the center (or Stamkos if he comes).
I also really hope with the pitts pick that we take a high end defenseman. Someone like bean or fabbro. We still have lots of defense who could turn out to be absolute steals in the future. This draft will be a fun one.

Yeah, if only the Leafs had a teenage centre who could be already playing NHL...
I would love to see Vesey get signed by the Leafs just so I could read the poop blog that Garf would right about the corrupt Maple Leafs - ShayneCorsi
And also, how the (frank) are they going to prove any tampering charges? Maybe subpoena thanksgiving dinner transcripts...???
"Hey Dad, how's the new job going?"
"I'm sorry Jimmy Jr., I cannot answer that to you..."
"Really dad? What about me?"
"Sure Nolan, the Leafs are a GREAT organisation to be a part of; you should count yourself lucky, son!"
