Yeah, if only the Leafs had a teenage centre who could be already playing NHL... - lumlums
Many of the scouts had him rated in the Jack Eichel category this year. He's played in a men's professional league, in Europe, and from all accounts, has been lights out. He has the size and body to be an NHL right now, from some of the clips that I've seen, while playing is Switzerland. His late birthday, allowed him to miss this past year, by a few days.

McDavid and Eichel have done OK, as teenagers, playing in the NHL. Matthews is almost a year older, coming out this year. He's more mature than most of this year's class and should be able to jump right into the NHL.

Lou will find a goalie. That won't be an issue. Draft picks are like gold to gms and since we have a plethora of them, I can see them moving them rather than kapanen or lipstick. These are guys who have shown they can play the system the leafs want to play. I can see Percy or possibly Harrington being moved before those.
Getting Matthews is best case scenario but we don't have many wingers with size, or 1st line possibility. Unless we consider marner to be a winger, he is the only one with 1st line potential. Others are at best 2nd liners. Getting one of the Finns or Tkachuk would solidly the 1st line for us, with nylander as the center (or Stamkos if he comes).
I also really hope with the pitts pick that we take a high end defenseman. Someone like bean or fabbro. We still have lots of defense who could turn out to be absolute steals in the future. This draft will be a fun one. - matt1337
I have a nagging feeling that they do exactly the same with PIT pick that they did with Nashville's and trade down for more picks. Even though they have a ton of them. They just can't help themselves

Or trade up.... which would be sweet if we can get another pick in the top 10

Matt Frattin???
J/k, but while we are on the subject, I would like the Leafs to give Willy #62 next year. I don't know what the policy is on numbers, if they need to prove something before they can have the number they want, or if Lou just pulls one out of a hat between 1-55 and there ya go.
Austin getting a ton of love in here today. I think his music should play in the background all day long. Beats the hell out of the ads - WingmanWillie

Give willy 69... it's 96 backwards, and he would join some pretty great NHL alumnus who wore the number 69

I see them staying or moving up to be honest. They don't need more pucks, they have too many at this point. I hope they pick where they end up with the pitts pick.
