From Garth's Blog:

Tampa head coach Jon Cooper loves jerking with Stamkos. He can't help himself.

Oilers are off til Saturday, Leafs will make up 2 games on them (Florida, Buffalo) big week for the tank the fact oilers and van play eachother twice is nice.

I predicted they finish with 72 points quite a while ago. They need 5 of the next 6 points to get there...

They always seem to win the last game of the year against the canucks.

Leafs will in turn need 8 points in their last 7 games to get ahead of oilers. 4 wins 3 losses. Its going to come down to the wire, as sad as it is, its exciting to see who's going to finish last. Canucks are terrible, and will probably sneak out last place

could mean vancouver finishes last if that happens.

i'd rather see the oilers finish last over the canucks.

F'n eh!
Sanchez is looking great.....but his innings are limited....could hurt us if the jays make the playoffs.

But I find the whole innings limitations such bs.....starters use to pitch so much over a decade ago.

Jays also picked up what could be one of a couple replacements for Edwin.

Twitter, it's like 5 tweets in a row. Says no obligation for player to sign, using cba well within his rights (cba allowed him to be drafted without any input from him), most wait 8years to be able to be ufa and control your fate. He gets to do it now, good for him.

Nice.
He's not the first or last.
Boston could be a strong contender for him too.

And also, how the (frank) are they going to prove any tampering charges? Maybe subpoena thanksgiving dinner transcripts...???

"Hey Dad, how's the new job going?"
"I'm sorry Jimmy Jr., I cannot answer that to you..."
"Really dad? What about me?"
"Sure Nolan, the Leafs are a GREAT organisation to be a part of; you should count yourself lucky, son!"

- lumlums

Exactly right.

The tampering rules have to be clear on this. Is it weird, and can't certainly be illegal, for a kid coming out of college to want to work where his dad and brother work?

I did it out of school for a normal job because I was nervous entering a new world of adulthood alone. Imagine what it's like for a kid playing a pro sport on TV for his first job?!??!?!?

That just can't be tampering more like pampering.

Leafs lose a pick for pampering?

Should be that way for all players including the CHL...FK being told you have no fk'n choice by play for someone for 8yrs.

Time for someone to challenge this in federal courts..

If Leafs get 8 points, they'll pass more then the Oilers and Canucks. Columbus and Calgary, also fall into that category. So instead of 4th, it'll possibly be 8th. Forget that sh!t! I didn't waste a whole season to see us get a middling pick for my wasted time supporting this team.

One other thing. We'll have played 8 games in 12 nights, when it's over. How is this going to affect the players being sent down to the Marlies and how they'll perform in their playoffs? This stretch could wear down the likes of Nylander, Carrick, Hyman, Brown....etc?

If they drop out of the top 4.....it would be a complete waste.....unless they do sign Stammer.

Don't want Stamkos. Too much money for too long of a contract. It'll be Phil, all over again. Marty St. Louis made him a star. Since St. Louis left for New York, Stamkos' numbers have dropped. I can't see paying this guy $10 million X 7. Especially when we're at least 4 years away from actually being considered a contender.

I am so on the fence with this one. Matters not to me. I think they are on such a good path to long term success, they should keep going with the " Build from within "
