I am still perplexed at what Homer was thinking - vejim
Well, his head coach and GM now credit him with being a significant reason why the Flyers have been able to withstand the loss of MDZ thus far. Not saying I agree or disagree, but the inside perceptions in the NHL are often VERY different than what fans and the analytics devotees perceive. |

Good read here on lindblom
Guess I won't hold my breath waiting for him to sign a ELC this summer based off his comments. Maybe the flyers can convince him otherwise.
His game is conducive to the small rink. Unless he's worrying about being homesick you'd think playing here would be the appropriate step to take in his development |

Constantly changing jersey numbers. Nice use of technology. What if two guys have the same number? Are they simply then interchangeable apples? Also, do the numbers have a preceding #? - Scoob
Yes. It's the NHL in 2016. |

I developed my own pair of glasses that removes the numbers from their jerseys and replaces them with their Corsi. It makes it much easier to focus on what is really important - YuenglingJagr
Funny, I've got a pair of glasses too. One lense can only watch the games. The other can only looks at the stats. If I open both eyes at the same time, I automatically go blind. |

Because you said the draft isn't fair (because a player can't go where he wants to go, especially to avoid horrible situations such as being X number of miles too far away from family and friends) and compared it to the real world (where you seem to think one actually can go wherever he wants to go.)
My position is that the draft is fair, and the real world isn't how you think it is.
Me being me. - Scoob
Untrue. When I turned 18, I walked into Boeing and demanded that I be the lead mechanical engineer on the V-22 rotorcraft project making $750K per year. I mean, what other option did they have than to give it to me? |

All I'm saying is that players should be free to negotiate with any team they'd like and teams should be free to negotiate with any player they'd like instead of a draft. - PhillySportsGuy
And that's fine, just don't say that is how the rest of the world works, because it isn't. The world of sports is different than the rest of the working world, which is what I initially said. |

Next year, Couturier will have to wear #14(A) so that Ghost can wear #14(B). |

Essentially Crosby money for a kid who has never stepped on the NHL rink?

Their size changes depending on QualComp and the color is based off of whatever stat I choose...so in Flow/60 Giroux is actually darker than Simmonds |

No, no... it's the new Nike tech in jerseys. It wicks away the old corsi number and adds the new number while you skate. |

I agree with your thinking.
I actually didn't like what Lindros did but as I mentioned before if a player does exercise their rights within the rule, I want to see the Flyers in on it. that said, I don't like that players have that loop hole. I am actually surprised more players don't opt not to sign. Granted junior players then can become available for the draft again so they would have to wait 4 yrs to select their own team just like college kids do. |

It's not what you or I want but it would happen. You can't deny it. You've watched these GMs work for years. You know they're throwing money at those kids and signing Vets for the pennies left over. |

With that said though, I would like to see Med back in the lineup at some point in the remaining games. At whose expense? I am not sure. - Cable2k
They are playing so well that I really dont care if he makes it back in. The Laughton situation is different, but even still I dont think 10 games is going to be too detrimental |

Let's try again.
Theres an argument to be made that sports leagues shouldn't even have drafts because it's unfair to the kids. Can you imagine the top med student graduating from an ivy league school and being told he or she needs to go work in Flint because they need his or her services the most? - PhillySportsGuy
Hi, can you please clarify this because to me it seems as though you are saying that an unproven player should be able to self-determine for whom he plays. And it seems to me that you are saying that the top med student does have this ability to choose for whom he works. Am I misunderstanding? |
