Glad to see Jody Shelley up in the booth for the Jackets games. With so many of the former tough guys in the NHL spiraling down after their career is over, thrilled to see Jody doing so well. Apparently, was a really great guy, if we're lucky we'll see him on NHL network or NBC in the near future. - ravishingone
Hopefully he'll take Milbury's job.

honestly, a buttend to the belly isn't worth a fine. From firsthand experience, playing in all types of leagues, that poop happens all the time. Its part of the game. Little subtle things people do to piss people off, it's not intended to hurt the person nor will it. Just a little poke.
Milbury, and i know he's a joke, but he was right last night when he said it was no big deal and you just can't get away with anything anymore, its ridiculous. My thoughts exactly. That stuff happens to players all the time in a game. |

It would be nice. Boosh is starting to get some time nationally. I was just thinking about gudas believe he is a really at the end of the season. Does hey just give him the ten percent raise or try to sign him to a multi year deal.
Do you sign gudas multi year with a cap hit between 2.5 million and 3 million. It's going to be able an interesting off season with how hexy wants to resign his own . The raffl contract was a good deal for both sides. |

I had no problem with it. If I'm chimera, no rookie is going to get away with slashing me either. |

Which is probably why he was only fined $5000. A reasonable warning shot to Chimera to taper off the nonsense.
While it seemingly looked worse than it was last night, a butt end is a nasty, deliberate offense. Like a spearing, if placed correctly, could cause serious injury. Regardless, it is bound to rile up the offended team to attempt an equal measure of retaliation. Something the league would much like to avoid. |

Depends where you get butt ended. in the ribs doesn't feel great and quite frankly a butt end is a 5 min major |

I would have preferred a minor penalty. I was more pissed that they called the comparitively weak hook on Manning that led to the Capitals goal soon after the butt end. |

On Boucher, I like him alot. He's very professional and very knowledgeable, and he's always a lot of fun to watch when he's on NHL Live with EJ Hradek and Steve Mears. Boosh has a sense of humor and takes the good natured ribbing he always gets from Mears and Hradek in stride. He's like the anti-Milbury.
On Gudas, I'm not sure what a reasonable contract is for him. I am sure that I like the progress he has made in becoming a more well rounded and disciplined player. So, I hope that Hextall can get something done. |

I think Nashville is first round fodder this year. Lavas breakouts don't excite me. They overrely on a guy like Josi to work magic carrying the puck. Lavas team does not have the layers of support that you see the flyers and the pens now have under their new coach. |

I mean not sure what the comparable for gudas would be considering his age and playing style. A more physical version of hjmarlsson not as good a skater but better shot generator from the point.

I wasn't suggesting that the 2.5-3M was out of line. It may very well be in line with what his perceived value is. Its just that they didnt tell me there'd be numbers involved when I signed up to be a hockey fan. I became an English major for a reason, you know. |

Kind of reminds me of kronwall but obviously likes to mix it up quite a bit more. Not as much offense now that I'm looking at kronwalls numbers |
