I am personally a fan of not making everytime a goalie gets touched a penalty....but consistency wouldve been nice |

(frank)ing douchenozzle. As Hitch would say, someone needs to make him eat his lunch.
If they meet in the playoffs, he may well be a recipient of one of Gudas' borderline hits.

Flyers!
I can't believe they are going to make the playoffs. They are, right?
Is Hakstol getting any consideration for COTY? - Richard_wilderness
Boiled down: he's taken a team that probably wasn't going to make the playoffs to one that might. Not exactly COTY material. |

Lets revisit at the end of the season. If they hit 99 points and make the playoffs, that would be pretty damned impressive, especially when you consider the following:
No one, anywhere, picked them as a playoff team pre-season
without a legit top pair Dman and with their best Dman out for the last third of the season, they improved 15 points over the previous year.
Overcame the loss of both Coots and Jake for extended periods of time.
I don't know if Hak will win it, he probably won't, but if the above is all true on 4/10, he definitely needs to be in the conversation.

So you think goalie interference should have been called? With all the other poop that happened in this game, that's the play you think the refs missed? The OT goalie interference call was horrible. Calling interference on that play would have been horrible. |

Yeah, I don't think Hextall will be looking to move Schultz. - Feanor
I think he could.
Unless Provorov is terrible in camp I don't see any way he goes to junior. So you have a 7 defenseman.
Schultz
Del Zotto
Gudas
MacDonald
Gostisbehere
Streit
Provorov
I would really try to move Streit as you have a couple two way guys in Provorov, Gostisbehere and Del Zotto.
Also I could see Alt moved into Mannings role or more if he has a good camp. He has good size and is a good skater.

Agreed, I don't want them taking stupid penalties. But, in the waning moments of the deciding game, if the game is put away, a Lindros/Ulanov beatdown ala 1996 would not be inappropriate.

I think they will first do everything possible to see if they can move AMac, and, if unable, I think they will likely move Streit

The Flyers have had an ungodly amount of goalie interference penalties not go their way this season, so we're very sensitive to it. |

I am wondering if Hextall uses one of those extra 3rds and tries to package with MacDonald to move him. |

I stated my thoughts on whether it should be called interference or not...I am just disagreeing with your notion that he clearly tries to not run into him because it looks to me like the opposite and you actually have evidence of another player right next to him reacting to the play but Beagle still goes right into the goalie. It was tactical, and that is supposedly fine but Coots going into Holtby wasnt? At least Coots was hit |

I loved the quotes post game from Trotz and Holtby that the Coots penalty for goalie interference wasn't going to be called until Holtby retaliated and that the refs wanted to get out of Philly alive... - dragonoffrost
How is that even a penalty??? Coots was pushed into Holbty, it's BS that he would get a goaltender interference call. That is something the league really needs to change. If a defender pushes the other team's player into their goalie, then guess what, it's your fault you took your goalie out of the play and any goals scored should count and no penalty assessed.
Didn't get to watch the game, but I woke up this morning and couldn't believe I wasn't still dreaming that we won a shoot out. Great effort boys!! |

Last night was a great win but as expected, did the Caps really bring their A Game? They didn't looked like a president's winning trophy team at all. |

They looked like a hockey team that played in a hockey game and lost a hockey game. Does it matter what letter game it was? Looked to be a fun primer for the games that will matter come mid april
on the bright side this reminds me of the fun day that was 12 pages of what percentage do good teams play to their level each and every night |

I have no idea why at all. That's why I am glad Cooter smacked into Holtby, and even happier he retaliated for the even up. |
