Tough to know how certain changes in Montreal could affect them next year, even with Price back

I totally agree ......... can't wait for next year and look forward to NEVER rooting for losses ever again.

I expect a guy like Kane to miss time
So for me, as long as he's healthy for the playoffs & most of the season...
I'm more concerned about how good he is when he's in the line-up,

It makes no sense. For someone like ROR who's played 80+ games in 4 of his 6 non lockout seasons, it makes sense, because there is a realistic chance he plays the amount of games at some point to produce at that rate.

IMO murray needs to keep the foot on the throttle and get 3 more additions this off season

they had a lot of one-goal games including seven losses in the shootout...they had a rough schedule early on, struggled, then played very well during the second half of the season...only had a few stinkers ( ) too...

at this point, I see no reason why the lower end of expectations should be less than the lower-mid eighties

This reminds me of the Phil Kessel is a 40 goal scorer argument.

The Buffalo Sabres didn't get 25 goals out of Evander Kane. They got 20. Anything else is just fluff. He's a good player, who probably will rarely, if ever score 25-30 because of his injury issues.

His "Per game" stats are relevant. Not his "Per 82 games"

That's fair...
But take a team like Calgary, Colorado or Winnipeg...
Those teams all had pretty much everything go right for them

We still had many obstacles this season,
Yet still made really nice improvement

Chemistry will continue to improve with getting more comfortable in Bylsma's system
Young players will continue to grow
Guys that disappointed should bounce back as well

So even if new obstacles arise,
We should still be able to move in the right direction
Especially if we make a couple key additions

franson's tradeable at the 2017 deadline...Pysyk has been playing a lot better lately so keeping him in a third-pairing role won't hurt...then there's nelson who looks like he's going to stick next season...

if they can't land that top-pairing d-man, keeping the d intact for one more season will give the prospects, like guhle, another year of growth...

imo, it's very important not to rush any of them
