Track(suit) record means little to me. You can be perfectly healthy for years and then get a concussion and then break your leg the next day. Injuries happen to everyone. Some players play a more high risk game, sure. But it takes one mistake to get injured and it happens to a lot of guys. - Zschalberg
Some much more than others. That really can't be disputed.

Age, though. I'd take Backes for 5M for 4 but no longer. Only reason is that I can do something with Moulson to get back some of that money if it doesn't work out - Zschalberg

Obviously I can't prove he will be healthy for the playoffs
I think u can assume that most guys who play with that style will miss games
So I look to see just how productive they are when they do play
And you've just gotta accept that physical, power forward type players will get banged up at times - jdfitz77
And I have. Guys get hurt. Next guy has to step up. If you build your team like that it's going to happen. Thing is, if you don't build your team like that it's still going to happen.
Is Edmonton a power forward, physical, rough you up team? No. They lost something like the 3rd most man games this year. It happens to any type player. |

He's not right either. Who cares? Did he win the award? Did he kill the guy who did? This is such a non-issue and it's an non-issue that was forced on by people like him so that they click on their stories. The Sabres nominated a guy for an award. So what?
Just blows my mind that anyone wastes time to care about this and for people to be legitimately angry about it, just wow. - Zschalberg
Canada has no teams in the playoff for the first time since the 1970 expansion...gotta write about something...
and besides...buffalo makes for an easy whipping-boy for our neighbors up north |

I totally accept that. Even from Kane who misses more time than the average player.
What I don't agree with is acting like his production is or will be greater than what actually happens. |

It may mean little to you but unfortunately if his past games played in a season is any indication ROR's injury plagued campaign this year is a fluke, compared to Kane's where he's always on the mend. |

Agreed. A professional skydiver is more likely to die daily than I am. Doesn't mean, though, that I don't get hit by a bus later today. That's all I'm saying. So yeah, some guys get hurt more than others. Kane is one of those guys. He gets hurt. He also gets 20 goals. It doesn't count for 25 and it doesn't make him better than a guy who scores 20 in 82 because 20 is 20 is 20. Period. Anything else is justification. I'm okay that he gets hurt. I'm okay with 20 goals. I'm okay that he's okay. We're all okay. |

Can I choose neither? I know we need someone but neither of those guys does enough for me to justify those salaries or terms. I guess Backes just because I can get rid of him faster |

The only reason I use projected stats is so u can accurately compare how good he is to other players
Like I said, I expect him to miss games
For me, it's about how good he is when he's on the ice
And hopefully, he is healthy for the playoffs |

Neither
Those guys are a bit too old for my liking
Next year, teams will be even more constrained by the Cap & by expansion protection
I'd save the $$$ until then
And take advantage of a team to get someone younger |
