I can usually tell a joke, and someone who's trying to stir up stuff. Is idiot reportable? Dont think so.... so go cry somewhere else. I'll have a sense of humour when you start being funny go to 4chan if you want to act moronic, or in fact, just leave me out of it. - Crazybagoham
6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers
No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful.
Quote from CoC you can find at the bottom of the page...Also my warning was directed at you for the name calling, but also a message to everyone that visits these blogs. I've done the "PM" route, remember? |

Clearly I was off base when I said Prust wasn't good with the rookies. I take it back. |

I have no idea where this moral stance against tanking is coming from. It is a totally acceptable tool to use in this modern era of sports management.
Saying that, I also think professional athletes should be allowed to enhance their performance by artificial means as long as it's done in a controlled and safe environment.
So my moral stance might be a bit sewed. - bloatedmosquito
Actually I didn't think you had a moral stance. |

I sure hope not, I want a proper rebuild. I'm expecting a 5-6 year rebuild. - A_SteamingLombardi
This is the third of hopefully 5 top-10 picks. I think Bloated is wrong to judge Bo and JV at this point, that either might grow into cornerstones yet. It's just too early to tell at his point, as Bo is overloaded and JV is a rookie.
That being said, Boeser and Demko both look like blue chips. JV and BO have lots of potential IMO, be patient folks! |

For all those who say tanking is the way to go, remember this: Teams like the Oilers, Leafs, Jets and Flames have fan bases that are patient and don't mind spending money to watch their teams lose. As well, unless it's CFL season there's nothing else to do in those cities that really would compete for the dollars that hockey fans would spend on. Vancouver doesn't have that luxury, we have a history of fans jumping on and off the bandwagon and leaving the building emptish when the team isn't doing well. FA is not the kind of person to spend all this money and not get a return on investment. While it might be the /best/ way back to respectability, with the way the market is, it may be that FA himself won't be patient enough with the losing and the fans staying away and tickets having to be lowered in response to try and keep people coming in the doors long enough to do it properly. Just something to consider. - DariusKnight
Aquaman is a business man first. When you develop your business case to start a new business or purchase a new acquisition you build risk into your BC in the form of up-front operating loses. If the business is run properly the up-front loses get mitigated by future gains (theoretically).
Aquaman had the benefit of having huge financial gains when he purchased the canucks. If he's a good owner he would have banked those gains to cover inevitable loses in the future. Every franchise goes through it, except the leafs of course. If not, and he has to start using his own funds then tough on him and if he starts to stress about it then GTFO and sell the (frank)ing thing. |

No 'infighting'.
No disagreements.
No to other team's fans having an ability to comment, be it trollish or comical in nature.
What are we supposed to talk about, Deadpool?
Or are we supposed to collectively jerk each-other off? |

You didn't answer my question. What am I stirring up?
You might be too sensitive for this site. I suggest another private counselling session with Makita and a big hug from your care worker. |

OFF TOPIC POST WARNING: speaking of aquaman.. I went and saw the new Batman VS Superman movie last night. Definitely do not let the reviews factor into you seeing this movie. This was not even half as bad as what people online are seeing. I would definitely encourage everyone see it in theaters, lots of good action!
Back to Canucks and tanking. Once a team is eliminated from the playoffs, its hard not to want the worst for the team as the remaining games tick away BASED on the fact that the top teams have all garnered top 3 franchise changing players. It's easy for you to be all high and mighty and say "tanking is for losers, look at the leafs, flames, oilers" but all of those will eventually get steam and start rolling.
CHI got Toews and Kane
LA got Doughty
Pens got Malkin + Crosby + Fleury (yah I know I know)
I am not saying you can't have a winning franchise without a top 5 pick, but I am saying it definitely doesn't hurt to have one. Don't get down on people for wanting what other teams with success have. |

I dont quite think the rebuild will be as long as most think, got the money to sign some free agents, Hutton and Tryamkin are looking promising. Markstrom is basically an anti tank so if he had more games it would help, Sutter playing more then 1/4 of the year. And not to forget the top prospect that well draft (for future years) |

This is really the crux of it. Like any business, if you want to have long term success, you may go through a period of loss to get to a long-term goal of sustained success. It's not like he has to report quarterly earnings to shareholders. Does he have the vision and the patience to let his team develop the right way? Free agent signings and patch-jobs to simply make the playoffs and mid to late draft picks haven't gotten us to the promised land yet. |
