watchout for bernieritis with Fasching...he came in like a lion, but he came back down to earth...granted training camp will tell the tale, but right now, I wouldn't be surprised if he spent some time in rochester next season...and, imo, that's a good thing - Michael Pachla
Per Pham Kasdorf is practicing today. Ennis is not. He's also not going on the trip but they want him on the ice for "The last 5 days of the season". K.
Id go Pysyk, Girgs, 2nd and see where that gets you. They'll have to beat out some teams. It's tricky though, you want to pay enough to beat out other teams but this is not the player to overpay for. - Sabresfan-365
If they got that offer, I think they would take it and run knowing Hoffman is a true one way player.
I would lowball and if they said no, so be it.
Overpay for somebody like Lindholm or Shattenkirk, not somebody like Hoffman.

So was Kessel (and he had a bad contract) still brought back Kapanen, 1st etc. I don't think pysyk, girgs, 2nd is an overpayment. You're likely getting the best player in the deal at a good age.

If he even played a little bit of defense, I'd agree, but he does not.
EDM has done everything EXCEPT move players at this point. That is the next shoe to drop. If this isn't a testimony proving it's a player problem ..... I don't know if you'll ever see a better example of it. They have great talent ....... but it's just not meshing. Any other sport and they'd be winning plenty. In the NHL, they are proving it's not just talent ........... it's the RIGHT talent. - fastek
Unfortunately for the Oiler, the only person who returns a top pairing guy is Hall and I don't think they give him up. The other guys have talent but have either under performed or are secondary players who you don't build around. I don't think they get fair value for anyone but Hall.

Really like Hall but the price will probably just be too high. The pieces I'd be willing to part with would be Pysyk, Ennis, Girgensons, Foligno, Del, Larsson, 2017 1st, and other picks and prospects. If a deal could be made with some combination of that, than I'd be all for it, if not, than no. At the end of the day you want Hall for his production which is .85 ppg. Ennis career stats is at .60 ppg on piss-poor offensive Sabres teams. Is the added .25 ppg worth a package that would included our 2016 1st + + + ? I don't think so...

Only thing I dont see being right for them is it just moves youth around with youth. They need more veteran leadership which we dont have a ton of. I dont think Ennis really fits the bill. I dont see us being that great of a trade partner. If you deal a 1st has to be this year.

Here's a rule I would love to see:
Goalies can only play the puck with one hand on the stick. Justification is, #1 if any forward grabs a goalie stick and uses it "as a forward" they get an illegal stick penalty, why should it be legal for a goalie to play the puck like a forward with an illegal stick? #2 They play with the stick in one hand 99% of the time. If they want to use 2 hands on the stick they can get a forward stick and lose either their blocker or glove.
I think this would help offensive zone time a bunch and increase scoring, without changing the rules incredibly. Goalies in the past never played the puck 2 handed. Take it away from them.
