Good. Prove we're improving. - TheSabresTaco
It is a good thing. I'll be especially pleased if whatever team happens to be in the 5-7 spot wins the lottery ........knowing that could/should have been Buffalo except for some 3 week hot streak to end the year when it didn't matter in the least. |

Are we all still crying that the Sabres won? |

Was hoping for a little losing streak to end the year to be honest because I like being in the top 8...now without a lottery win we pick 10-11. I am not upset at all, the team looks to be gelling more now and the Rangers are no slouch team. I'm wondering, with the same team, just one year older, could we make the playoffs next year? |

The thing that kept up from the playoff conversation this year was being totally snakebitten early in the season when it came to scoring. Particularly secondary scoring. Now that Gionta, Larrson, Folgino, Girgs, Bogo and Moulson have been chipping in we look like a real hockey team.
+ We sucked at shootouts and we no longer have Mike Weber |

The add to the roster through the draft is important, but the big steps for next year will come from FA signings and trades.
Here's a great truth: we're going to finish this year close to .500. This year, the guys came into camp thinking "We made some real changes and there's reasons to think we won't suck anymore." Next year, we add FA pieces; traded pieces; developing prospects; and drafted rookies, and with the confidence established through this year's play, the thinking will be "There are reasons to think we could be good, really good."
A pick in the top 5 would be nice, but I'd much rather be where we are - without the top 5 pick - than where the Oilers are - with a top 5 pick, but no confidence, no momentum, no plan and no clue. |

Their play does outweigh the pick...I watched that interview with McClellan and it was painful to watch. |

Agree. Not only that though, I laughed when DeBoer went to SJ. |

When talking about Evander Kane
"Injuries are apart of the game"
"His style of play, I expect him to miss time"
When talking about Steven Stamkos
"He's never been the same since his leg injury"
"He might never be the same after this blood clot"
"Now I'm scared of potential injuries" - sbroads24
I mean he did play through the shoulder injury and still could of but got the surgery to ensure it being 100%. And the injury he has now appears to be a broken finger or fingers. Stammer snapped his tibia and has blood clots, different ball game |

Good read(reed, wread)
http://sabres.buffalonews...an-satisfaction-declines/ - Buffalo--Sabres
I am not a season ticket holder, but two things jumped off the page at me:
1. The person said "When I bought the tickets, I just wanted to be able to see more games, but now I want more than that."
2. Of the five teams analyzed, Buffalo's prices were the lowest by 10% over the next cheapest city.
Pretty tough to say the tickets are a ripoff when the give you everything g you bought them for at a price that's considerably below all the competitors. |

Oilers record-
With McDavid in lineup: 16-25-2
Without McDavid: 14-18-5
I'm really looking forward to see what they can do with Matthews... |

It has more to do with tickets going up 40% during a time when the team played one playoff series. I like Pegs but if you're going to use the revenue sharing line as a reason, then at least do a little something extra for the fans that paid thousands for a horrible product. |

Dude:
In Buffalo, the best seats in section 307, at the "shoot twice" blue line, are $2,150.
In Edmonton, seats at the same location cost $4,500 - $4,950 Canadian, or $3,846 US.
In Winnipeg, seats at that location are 2,465 US$
Do we need to go on?
New Blog, by the way. |

So if Stamkos and his injury scare the Sabres away and they go after Hall that would give Edmonton two top 10 picks this year to screw up. |
