Haha they are pretty boring, I watch if the game has talented players that are draft eligible. Seen enough wheat kings game in person, good mid round talent in the WHL this season. Not a lot of high end.

Did see Moose Jaw vs wheat kings near the end. Brayden point is good. Dryden hunt will be AHL imo. Brett howden will probably do better then his brother. Was most impressed with Noah Gregor. Played LW and has tons of skill. Overshadowed by the rest.

Watched part of Oil kings game tonight boring

It what list has Juolevi past Chychrun?
- CanuckDon

hmmm ill look. I believe it was draftsite.com
It was saying some believe he could or will pass chychrun not that he had already. More that they were about equal now. I think the site changes with nhl standings stats etc as earlier when I looked it was vancouver drafting him not pheonix

Ya, he's also played very well in the second half. Drafts are weird: before the draft you never hear anything much about a Carlson, Gudbranson, OEL or Brodin in the media, but they get picked high and end up great players. Seems to me the scouts really know what's up these days, yet picking the best out of those guys at the top is still a skill. The year Hedman was picked for example, all we knew was that he was giant and every scout had him in their top-5. Chychrun is pretty close to that type of consensus all year, although in the last little bit Sergachev and Juolevi creep ahead (according to some draft boards). Yet every year euro's and russians seem to go a bit later and end up better than the CHL guys picked ahead of them (Ristolenen, Karlsson, Brodin for example). Good news is our first and second rounder this year should both be pretty great picks, it's up to the development team after that.
- neem55

thats great news. We can only hope many teams shy away from russians and sergachev ends up available later on and we then a acquire an extra (an less expensive) pick to land him.

I know....burke did so if he can its possible.

The situation of a #2 (laine) and a top 10 (for sergachev) is much more plausible than #2&3

those players are a slam dunk fit here too. You know laine....we are both salivating over getting him in canucks uniform

I wouldn't count on that pick for two reasons, 1) Benning will probably trade it away &/or 2) CBJ will wait until 2018 when they should be better.
- LeftCoaster

They cannot wait. Must decide this year

The thing that concerns me about Juolevi is his playing weight. Chychrun already has 50 lbs on him, and can still skate like a mother(frank)er.

I'd love another pick in the top 10, but that will cost. Getting 2 and 3 even if you have 1 will cost quite a bit.

What are peoples thoughts on chychrun? Is he more bogosian or more ekblad?

I'd be pretty happy either way wouldn't you?
Bogo has been a pretty darn good 1D for St.Louis.
Ekblad was a 1st overall, bogo a top-5, so I'm guessing he's more bogo.

Ekblad looks pretty sick. I don't think he'll be that good.

Bogosian plays for buffalo, he is good but hes not top 5 pick good and more of 2nd pairing guy.

I was just wondering more or less will chychrun be a top pairing guy like ekblad or do some see him as more of 2nd pairing type.

IMO most of these guys come up with top pairing potential. It's the mental aspect of the game that sets them apart. That, again IMO is what I like about the young Finn.

Projecting top pairing D is just that. Ekblad has to avoid more concussions.
At the rate he is going it doesn't look good. Hope he sorts it out.

ya a franchise D can make your team.

I have my doubts jets would be above nhl bottom wo buff.
weber made the preds.
niedermeyer in NJ, ducks
pronger w blues, oilers cup run year, ducks ....he made all of those teams awesome
keith, seabrook w hawks

would any of those teams have been awesome wo that fanchise D man? Doubt it

hopefully many years from now we can look back on van and tree will bring a tear to our eye w fond memories.

Anyone else getting the feeling Canucks are going to win out the year and finish like 5 or 6 and draft 8 or 9?

He is no guarantee of top pairing as r the others IMO.
I do like his offence but only time will prove it.
That said we still need D.

I figure 1 more win against Edm n iffy with Calgary.
As for the lotto Odds %:

6th 7.5%
5th 8.5%
4th 9.5%
3rd 11.5%

So small differences n all luck basically.

As for a feeling i think we will be lucky & said it for weeks we get a top 3.
