I'm thinking Montreal NJ would like to move up & pick a F.
Draft day could be trading action for the high 1st's maybe.
All 3 of Tkachuk Nylander & Dubois for teams wanting F help. |

If not top 3 for us I wonder if Philly would trade Provorov for our 1st.
Their stable of good young D allows them some leeway. |

D?
It's close. Russian is bigger and has a better shot. Finn is the most composed of the 3 IMO. |

Those 3 r so close idk what JB does tbh. He knows best.
I cannot help wanting us to trade down & stay in the top 8-10 if it makes sense. I believe a good D will still be there. So much to speculate on & cannot wait for April 30th.
June 1st thIs year CBJ must decide which year we get the 2nd round pick |

From watching them play on TV and reading scouting reports.
NHL comparables
Olli Juolevi - Dougie Hamilton (zach werenski)
Mikhail Sergachev - Kris Letang (Ivan Provorov)
Jakob Chychrun - Brent Seabrook. (Noah Hanifin)
or you can look at it about the same as last years. |

We should be able to pick a good player with whichever pick we end up with. Top 3 would be great, but falling a bit and picking some d talent would work. |

Anyone else getting the feeling Canucks are going to win out the year and finish like 5 or 6 and draft 8 or 9? - kneughter
You can sense it coming and man that would be horrible for #tanknation.
Hopefully Benning can manipulate it enough where we lose the rest of the games out...
Come on JB you can do it.

I think getting a coach fired is all a power trip by media.
WD is not my favourite coach by any stretch but can't see the need to fire him unless his coaching is hurting the development of younger players.

I agree, and like LordH says, Horvat is doing really well with WD at the helm. Last thing you want is to rock the boat while guys are still learning the game. Edmonton is a good example of young players not developing properly because they are getting new messages every season. Yak took it the hardest when the brought in Eakins, dont want to see JV or Horvat go that route |

thriving because of or despite WD?
different coaches over the years but always the same concerns with line composition and deployment.
I just want to see more of Pedan and different players in different roles but I guess there is the question of earning opportunity and playing the right way to stay in the lineup. along with different expectations for different players.
Horvat is taking advantage of some of his chances lately. |

Those McLellan pressers are always fun The Oilers should use that change is coming slogan we used awhile back
I'm in no rush to see WD fired. The media mostly didn't expect the Canucks to compete for a playoff spot beyond being fringe/wild card. The media still is upset with the losing, I think it is the makeup of the team, which is on JB, as much as the play on the ice.
a work in progress.

I think both Babcock and McLellan might've underestimated the challenge they entered
Exactly, when they brought him in the expectation was getting a coach to grow with the team a bit. Keep some consistency with the young guys to help them develop. Guys like the Sedins and Burrows have been around the NHL long enough to handle coaching changes, but the younger players need some consistency so they can get comfortable before dealing with coaching change adversity as well |
