From TSN this morning http://www.tsn.ca/talent/...r-the-microscope-1.464251
Stamkos getting a rib removed today: "Dr. Forbes said that rib, which is bonded by the collarbone, constricts blood flow to the vein and can cause clotting with trauma or repetitive motion, such as raising your arms above your head."
Good thing no one in Vancouver does that often enough to have those problems... |

Those McLellan pressers are always fun The Oilers should use that change is coming slogan we used awhile back
I'm in no rush to see WD fired. The media mostly didn't expect the Canucks to compete for a playoff spot beyond being fringe/wild card. The media still is upset with the losing, I think it is the makeup of the team, which is on JB, as much as the play on the ice.
a work in progress. - hillbillydeluxe
The league needs to send some advisors to Edmonton. Lol.
I'd guess that WD has 30 games to at least get the team to put an effort in next season or he's gone. |

I hope if the leash is short next year they at least talk to Green about their plans. Because if they are forced to make a move, at least the young guys are familiar with Green and the transition should be better. Even JV and Horvat have some experience with him, so that should help a little |

If they are going to get rid of Willie next season I hope they replace him with a veteran coach NOT named Crawford. |

3 coaches 4 years. I know WD is not great but where do the problems really lie? |

If the young guys aren't putting in the work, effort and professionalism, they should be playing in Utica. Some of these lessons are beyond talks and mentorship from veterans and the coach in Vancouver. A little time in Utica, the AHL, might change the entitlement attitude.
I am guessing it is mostly JV and McCann that the club wants more from... maybe Etem and Vey they want more consistency. Training camp will be interesting next season if some of these guys requiring waivers are back and don't look any better.
I hope the club is able to hold onto Green. |

A little bit of both. Change some core players, bring in a few different seasoned players. Same problems then time to look at a new coach. I'd agree to a vet coach. At the point where another coach that hasn't gone through a rough patch in the nhl wouldn't help. |

Let's fire him too
I think he is looking into the problem on the back end as we speak. Larsen can hopefully raise some numbers |

I think the team needs to see what WD can do with a healthy and more skilled team first.
Change is coming |

I would wonder what a healthy line up can do. Some changes are still in need. More depth but not youth. If virtanen, Horvat, McCann, baertschi al make the team. No more rookies. Unless on defence. |
|
|
|
With a healthy Sutter next year how does the chemistry with Sven and Sutter look? Do we need to pick up two top 6 guys to play with BS or will Sven fit in nicely? And then there is Rodin
Big jigsaw. Have to wait and see how it plays out. |

I think JM and JV should go to the Comets to ripen. Let them come back as men , not boys |

That whole morning variety show is a bit much. however, with the start of baseball season, I won't be listening as often as I would during the hockey season.
I don't mind the Blue Jays until it is all Jays all the time. |

I think so also, the one player that might make things interesting is Boeser. I dont think hes going back to college and will legit challenge for a spot next season. |

Sending both down would probably complicate things though. |

I would like to see Sutter play 3rd line shut down center to take that spot away from bo. Id play him with burrows/etem and hansen/rodin. Keep sven with bo and play the other of hansen/rodin there.

Yup. Only CHL players arent eligible for the ahl until 20 or something. NCAA and europeans can head right over tothe ahl. |

If Rodin is getting a winger spot on the 2nd or 3rd line and Sutter/Bo are in the middle on those lines, it sounds like JV and McCann won't be missed if they start the year in Utica.
Unless the complication is JV and McCann upset with the demotion.
I still don't know where Granlund fits in? 4th line centre or bottom 6 winger?
We need more grit in the bottom 6. |

A couple of weeks ago he said he didnt know if he would be back and needed to talk it over or something. To me that sounds like a guy who more or less is looking to make the jump. JB did say he thinks he needs one more season but with the rate these guys are opting for UFA id sign him ASAP. Plus he really doesnt have anything left to prove, he was 2nd in league scoring and broke his schools rookie records. |
