Pretty sure he was sideways since he got hit on the side of the knee
- Vukota

He was, but still a stupid way to block a shot. Leg pads have next-to-no padding on the sides like that.

Not good for DeHaan. Injury was kind of his fault. what was he thinking having his back to the shooter. Even I know not to do that.

Going to be tough tonight. Capitals on back to back. With effort we gave yesterday its quite possible.

100% agree and I thought the same thing when it happened. That said your natural instincts is to turn away to protect face, family jewels, etc. when are they going t have Pads that protect all the way around? should not be too hard at this point. These guys are making millions of dollars and should not be losing time b/c they blocked shots.

I hope u are wrong about Hamonic.. that would be awful.

I rather guys work to keep the front of the net clear and let the goalies stop the puck instead of them trying to block the shots. Lots of guys do not seem to know how to block shots without getting hurt.

Also I might be inclined to sit Clutterbuck tonight and maybe insert Boulton. I know that might not make sense but with Wilson skating around out there taking cheap shots it might be a safe bet

And also I would have the fourth start every game. They seemed to get the team pumped on the very first shift last night

Knee is a moving part so you can't have unmovable protective padding all around or you couldn't move the joint.

Boulton is so old and slow I'm not sure he could even catch Wilson if he wanted to.

True but with Clutterbuck banged up like that I think sitting him tonight would not be the worse thing in the world, and I just dont trust Wilson

I'm a little upset Boulton is the guy that takes the temperature in the room. Could he not see the team was not playing hard many nights?

Clinching is not what im concerned about. Its playing Caps in first round.
Win or Loss last year the 7 game series was grueling and we served a beat up Caps right on silver platter to Rangers.

You want the least physical matchup you can get. Florida, Tampa and Rangers offer the best match up. All of them are not Hitters.

- Spartiarti

Florida are not hitters? They beat the piss out of us every, single time we play them.

I would like to see the Caps line up tonight. They pretty much have everything wrapped up so they might start to give a few players a night off here and there to get a little recharge before they go to war.

you clearly did not see those games. 1st game ice was tilted. Isles has outshot and outplayed them in every way. Loungo was only reason why they are where they are.

I don't fear Florida in any way. We are better in every way.

Only Teams we would have little chance of beating in first round are Pens and Caps.

Look the playoffs are a different animal as we all know. Every team brings there A game and certainly the physicality increases. Lets also not forget the officiating seems to change as well.
That said any team can beat any team especially in a best of 7 game series, where I hate to say this but strategy and adjustments game to game play a big part which is a disadvantage against any team for The islanders imho.

Luongo does have a reputation for crapping the bed in the playoffs.

It's going to be tough no matter who the Isles play. Isles have to be able to bring the intensity every game. Cappy also has to be able to make the proper adjustments. Isles will not be the favorite against most teams.
