Maybe the Panthers do not beat up the Isles like the Caps, but the Panthers are still a bad match up for the Isles in terms of size. No way around it. - ses111
That's all well and true.. Isles 1-1-1 against them. But I take my chances with the Panthers and the Atlantic to avoid the pens, caps, rags etc.... |

Id rather play the rangers but that's a pipe dream at this point. The only reason I'd like to play the Panthers is based on their experience or lack there of and Luongo's penchant for folding in big games. I say that knowing the islanders lack of experience we arent exactly playoff veterans

Long story just didnt think he was that good. Everyone made a huge thing about him how awesome he was best player in the league. I didn't see it. My sisters used to drool over him and tell me how hot he was. I was young at the time and then the three overtimes against Washington I had to stay up for. Couldnt stand him - kasperrko
Guys a class act as far as I'm concerned and that was on and off the ice. That said everyones entitled to their opinions. |

Pump the breaks a little...he is not "on the trade block".
This is what he said:
30 THOUGHTS
1. However annoyed Patrick Roy may have been with Matt Duchene (and however Duchene feels in return), this will not be a rush job if Colorado decides to make a move. The Avalanche made it clear when the forward’s name was bandied about earlier this season that Duchene was not going anywhere unless the return made sense. For the Avs, that’s probably a defenceman of some renown.
The Islanders would trade John Tavares if it "made sense" too. Doesn't mean he's on the block. It would start with Hamonic, but we'd have to add a lot more. - eichiefs9
Sorry but between earlier this season and them admitting he will go somewhere if the trade made sense that's pretty much trade block. There is a difference between shopping him and him being on the block. Block is pretty much saying "if you want him come get him", I don't think Garth has ever displayed that aura about Tavares.

Earlier this season there was only speculation by outside sources. Could he be traded? Sure. But the Avalanche are not under any kind of major pressure to trade him. They are not an abomination devoid of a single talented defenseman that has been the laughingstock of the league for years, like the Oilers, that is feeling the pressure to do something.
It would cost a lot to get him. Hamonic+++ |

Duchene on the tradeblock per Friedman for a Dman; is Denver closer to Winni and is he of desire around here? - Danformo
Duchene for Hamonic is a good hockey trade for both teams, at least they have something in common, they both seem to miss the PO's |

To many +++ really don't think that much needs to be added after a $3m top 4 dman is part of the trade.

Probably won't happen because I'm pretty sure Travis wants to be in Western Canada. A lot easier to hop home to WPG from EDM than COL. No customs.
I'm not sure what Duchene costs because they are under zero pressure to move him. Sakic not having his balls dangling over the bandsaw only raises the price. |

The stats are skewed, because the 4th line distorts them. Just watch the game. When most Isles' players are not finishing their checks and they're not taking hits to make plays, that's your best indication as to which team is winning the physical battle. |

Ur right Sakic is not pressured but the team lacks D and is there weakest link.
E. Johnson always appears to be injured, Barrie is offensive and Beauchamin is decent enough. Now I have no idea who's in their system but the team made PO's recently and under the Iginla curse hasn't been back since..... |

*waits patiently for Fatmarsh to show up in here*
Bigras is a solid prospect. They have Zadorov too, from the ROR trade. That's pretty much it, aside from what you mentioned.
They could most certainly use Travis, but I'm just saying that Dutchy wouldn't be sold cheap to anyone. I think we have a better shot at getting a (ever-so-slightly) discounted Taylor Hall than we do getting Duchene for anything less than top-dollar. |

Give them harmonic, Strome and more to get Duchene.
Duchene and Tavares would be incredible.
Sorry I didn't post before, But I do love Nielsen with Okposo and Tavares last night. |
