I'm glad he called them out. Cappy's been nothing more than an excuse and propaganda machine for his underachieving players all year. Injuries, the ice, the position of the moon in the sky. His team's tanking was always the result of some outside force or something out of the team's control, according to Cappy. Now, he's finally calling out some of the underperformers.

Him saying that he concentrates on little things is ridiculous. Doing the little things, like backchecking, should not be something he needs to focus on. That should be natural. Getting back and defending your net should not be something you need to think about.

I dont think Nelson deserves the same negatiive spotlight shone upon him as does Strome & Bailey. Or did you mean Nielsen? What about Kulimen or Lee? If Anders isnt in front of the net , he's all but invisible too.
Regardless, this team has somehow compensated for inferior coaching all season long. There is obviously a good amount of talent. Shame it's being squandered yet another year. Nelson's numbers, outside of his goal production, are not too good either. I agree with you that guys like Kuli and Lee also need to be called to the carpet. There are plenty of guys not doing their jobs this season.

In fairness, if anyone is calling Cappy out it will be the owners and GM. They're not going to do that in-season. No team's management and ownership groups would call their coach out mid-season. With the Isles on the cusp of a playoff berth, they're not going to publicly call out their coach.
