This is a huge upgrade on Labarbera. Hexy must be sick of the AHL team never making the playoffs.

He could challenge Stollie honestly. All they had to hand out was an ELC, so it's a coup whether the Phantoms were good or bad. In Stollie's defense and even LaBarbera who wasn't good, the team's issues were primarily with the skaters. But this is great and an easy improvement. The prospect arsenal gets another weapon.

Lyons was one of the top college FAs and definitely the top goalie I think. Kid has been terrific. I wonder why he'd join the Flyers though...Stolarz still probably has another year or two as the AHL starter. We have Mason at the NHL level. Prospects like Madsen and Sandstrom and Emery in the pool. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to a more goalie starved system? I mean this guy was very sought after. Awesome he's a Flyer though.

Maybe they will do a Mason/Neuvy 1A/B split in the AHL. That would make sense with two legit young tenders.
