I agree that Medvedev should have been getting some games during this stretch.
Laughton is another guy who should not be left on the bench too long. The lack of speed on the 4th line's wings is a real issue. - Feanor
I would take him over Read right now. I need more from Read. I thought Laughton and Cousins had a nice chemistry and were doing a good job together on the ice. |

Pelle Lindbergh was such an upbeat happy go lucky guy who by all accounts never had a bad word to say about anyone. He lit up a room wherever he went.
Its is so sad to see his name disgraced on a day to day basis in these boards. - MBFlyerfan

I think, in the coaches minds, it's all about the mix. With Ghost, Streit and AMac in the lineup, that gives you 3 dmen who bring no physicality whatsoever to the game and can all struggle against defending bigger players down low. While Manning is far from the biggest or strongest guy out there, he does bring some grit to the group, and outside of Gudas, that is in short supply on the Flyers D. - BiggE
True, but Schultz also isn't the biggest or the strongest but provides the same thing. I get Medvedev offers something a lot different than Manning but after a loss against Edmonton, shouldn't we keep Medvedev going? Right now I'm asking myself what Jordan Weal is doing here. Umberger I understand why he's sitting but everyone else I believe should get a game in if the Coach can find an open spot. |

And for the low, low cost of Olli Maata, he can play for his hometown team, if the Penguins will take Andrew MacDonald as well. |

Exactly. I'm not gonna torch Haks because we're in a playoff position but I think all of this is a cause for concern.
Like even over playing the hand of Mason seems to be a no win but at some point we've gotta find Mason rest. |

If things works out, hopefully the weekend games don't matter and we can play stolarz those two games.
Flyers need to win these next to and see how things shake out. |

I feel after a loss (and we have had some) you get a guy who hasn't played in awhile back into the line up. I don't think replacing Manning for Medvedev is going the damage to mojo of the team. I think it might if you wait too long, which Medvedev has sat for along time now. - SuperSchennBros
Medvedev has definitely been inconsistent. Part of that is probably due to every time he makes a mistake he gets benched. He hasn't been able to get any type of continuity built up. Not easy coming to a new country, not being able to speak the language, ice size is different. Takes adjusting. I don't think he's been given a fair shake. |

Playing Mason is their best chance at winning games. Sure, we may run him into the ground and have him spent come playoffs, but until/unless we clinch a spot, we likely won't make the playoffs unless he starts every game. |

There are no easy games. Wings need points too. |

Didn't say they were easy. Get two wins this week and hope things work out with Bruins and Wings. Could have the weekend games mean nothing like Bill suggested. |

Well Manning plays a lot more conservative a style than Medvedev. Medvedev is going to make more mistakes, that said his upside is much higher than Manning. He's got a lot more skill. |

I'm not going to question him at all. He's been very successful with what he's done and I doubt swapping in Medvedev, or any other player (sorry Weal lovers), would have them in a better place than they are right now. |
