I don't think Manning for Medvedev is a very big swop. - SuperSchennBros
I didn't say it was. But Hakstol doesn't do it and I'm not going to question it. |

To me they are banged up as a group. Will be interesting to hear at the end of this year what the injury reports are. Playing at such a high intensity for an extended period of time. They "flipped the switch" a while ago.
Wouldn't surprise me to hear Read is hurt. Would be happy moving on in the off-season if possible though. He is definitely not the same Read that first played for th Flyers. - flyer_nutter
I agree with all of this. I think Read will have a hard time staying in the lineup even if he is here next year. Guys like Cousins, Laughton, Leier, Konecny and maybe even NAK and Lindblom will be passing him on the depth chart very soon.

Yes, I know. Was just stating that I couldn't be mad at my wife and her misdirected team loyalty.
My little girl knows that Wayne Simmonds and Claude Giroux play for the Flyers. She also knows, "Boo Rangers!" "Boo Devils!" and "Boo Yankees!" So there's your priorities.
Edit: Slim Jims are a food group. It says so in the bible. |

as long as the wife keeps boo pens from entering the vocabulary, I guess we can still be friends. |

She told her to say "Crosby" and Lucy said "Crycry," without me telling her. It was pretty funny. But no, we're gonna let the Pens be a secondary team, much like the Eagles and Pirates. |

I fully expect to hear about a Voracek injury that has been bothering him most the year. Particularly the beginning |

I think he is moved this offseason.
I could see Leier or Laughton filling his role. I think Laughton could make the move to wing. I think he looks better there. |

As Bill wrote earlier in the year, and I agree with him, Laughton's speed and shot have seemed much better suited for the wing. Even though it's been a small sample size. |

What channel was Nantz on? I would have rather seen that then listen to the Carolina team call the game on TNT or TBS that I watched on. I kept thinking, "man do these guys realize how unprofessional they sound? Their totally in the bag for the Tar Heels."
It was only after, that I realized that it was their feed. - hockeylover
I loved that there was a Nova feed, but I hate Scott Graham. So ended up with Nantz.
No way I was listening to NC feed. Their fans left a bad taste after their stay in Philly last weekend. Some were nice (the younger ones, mostly), but the older guys (who didn't seem to have sniffed college themselves) were braying donkeys.
There were also Nova and NC centric One Shining Moment versions on their feeds, which was really cool.

Yes, because we don't tolerate that kind of behavior from sports fans in Philadelphia. |

Agreed. 2nd year in a row Read's struggled. When he's gone, I doubt the Flyers miss a beat. |

MJL is not here and will not be ever again according to him. So you can all rest your fingers on those posts and think of something original to say about hockey. |

Well, can't really kick out the locals. And I'm sure Philly fans are the only idiot sports fans in the country...all the rest eat their hot dogs with lace napkins and set their beverage of choice on delicate doilies.

I don't like braying donkeys no matter their colors. But when sitting in an arena about 2/3 full of neutral fans, if you can make it annoying to everyone around you, including fans of your team, you're special. And not in a good way.
And "We want biscuits" is not something I've ever heard before or want to hear again as a taunt at a basketball game. |

Well, that rules out any additional posts...after this one...
Edit: a handshake agreement ala VLC?
Edit 2: I occasionally bumped heads with MJL but, in general, thought he was a good guy. And I agree with the comments yesterday stating he never got offensive or personal in any debate I witnessed. He maybe carried debates on a little long, but we all do that from time to time... |

With the possible expansion draft coming up I think it's going to be a lot harder to move a guy like Read. I don't think he'd be considered a long term piece of any team going forward and who's going to want to give up assets for a player they will probably expose in an expansion draft in a years time. transactions could be few and far between for the league this summer |
